Battery keeps dying in the middle of the night

I have a 1998 cadillac sedan deville - 4.6 liter - unless I disconnect the battery at night, the car will not start in the morning because the battery is drained. Can you please help me?

    I had the same problem....have you ever noticed a little puff of smoke coming from the ignition switch? I changed my ignition switch and problem solved.....

    The altenator was just replaced with oem, still no resolve?

Have the alternator checked it could test good and still be bad but it can also drain the battery 9 times out of 10 its the alternator thats draining the battery

I would normally agree with Ronnieh49, but I just replaced my alternator & my battery still gets drained, any other suggestions?
(btw-new battery also)

Where is the emergency brake vaccum hose located
its just above the pedal, there should be a little lever that you can manually take the brake off in case the vauum can is bad or disconnected. the vac can is attached to that linkage.

89 Cadillac sedan deville when car is on the service engine light comes on and have to disconnect the battery to restart the computer
Disconnecting the battery will neither clear the code, nor stop the light from coming on. Press OFF and WARM together on the a/c panel to read codes. Once repair is made, codes can be cleared by pressing and holding the OFF and HI buttons
