Only happens when very cold (less than -10 degrees). Recently the security light has been occassionally coming on when driving. Dealer looked at it and was able to confirm the issue but didn't find anything. (Fuel pressure ok) Hard to troubleshoot because of temp - once it warms up everything works fine (except for the occassional security light). Thoughts? Could this have anything to do with the Passlock security system? If so, how can it be troubleshot/repaired?

probably not fuel filter . probably going to have to remove the upper intake and replace the fuel injector spider(fuel inj assebly) if it is droping fuel pressure it is leaking into the upper manifold

replace your MAP sensor(manifold absolute pressure) the map sensor is the computer for your fuel pressure regulator telling how much pressure. Unless your tahoe runs like **** going up hill than it inevitably your fuel pump

if your security light is on it won't start. Leave the key for tens minutes or so until the security light flashes then it should start.

the problem you are discribing would lead me to belive your fuel filter is clogged which is a simple fix 3 dollar part at any part store or on the worse hand your fuel pump itself could be weak you can open the gas tank cover and have another person turn the truck key to the on position without going far enough to start you will hear a faint whining noise if it is going bad or a louder noise if it is fine Good Luck
