The battery is dead on my 1994 Jacguar xj6. The battery is in the back. The trunk has a power lock with won't work because the battery is dead. How can I open the trunk so I can charge the battery? I have 2 keys and neither will work. Please help!
The 1994 xj6 sedan. The trunk should be opened by the key unless you have green keys only (valet keys).
If this is the case then open the hood and on the firewall there is a black plastic square box with a + sign on it, lift up the plastic cover, connect your jumper/charger on a low boost and this will give you enough power to push your remote trunk release switch.
JPTCAT
Cover under bonnet with a big P on it and negative is anything metal on the engine
On the back of the boot (trunk) lid is the XJ6 label, on the left side of the label, is a hole (looks like an emblem is missing) this is the key hole, to manually open the boot (trunk) and gain access to the battery.
What you can try, They have small battery chargers you can plug into the cigarate lighter and plug the other end into a wall plug and charge the battery that way, at least enought to open the trunk.
