Yes, have your CV (Constant Velocity) Joint checked out ASAP. In order to prevent additional, very costly damage, you should discontinue driving until you can have it repaired.
If mechanically inclined, then crawl under the front and inspect the boots over the CV joints. These will typically fail, allowing all of the grease to escape, and allowing water, dirt and other contaminates to enter. Look for a cracked boot and for grease slinging all over everything.
I would suspect it is a wheel bearing issue, if it sounds similar to a baseball card in the spokes of a bicycle, stays somewhat same pitch just louder with speed that is where I would look. Does noise go away or change when making turns?
At what speed ; idle, in town, highway ?
Is the knock a ; knocka knocka knocka..... like a diesel engine, does it get louder when you accelerate ?
Check engine oil level, and please let me know.
Hello, I see you have a trailblaber with a knocking noise. It sounds like you have an electric fan clutch issue. Believe it or not your vehicle has an electric fan clutch. It looks just like the older non-electric but if you look on the driver side of the fan shroud that is the wire connector you see. It is an exspensive part just for the clutch but thats exactly what you are describing. It doesn't get louder just fast with rpms. Please rate my answer, Thank you
