Harsh shifting ive had same problem since day one. i have an 08 touring model(turbo) that only has 8k miles on it. its a year old and garage kept. when pulling out of garage to drive it is 2 blks to main street. when accelerating onto that street and shifting from first to second there is often a very violent slam forward. it only happens cold, no more than once. i have been hesitant about taking to a dealer in spite of my warranty because it doesnt set a check engine light and it is intermittiant and as a tech myself fear hearing the words no problem found. has anyone else seen or heard of this, any help is appreciated

I would honestly recommend going to a dealership, your problem is definitely in your transmission, and that wouldn't set off a check engine light

losing bost (turbo boost)?????? have turbo here?????????

get the car serviced, you can not fix turbo problems, some are very complex.
gee 21 years old and just 1200 miles per year
just 3 miles per day used, only to church under full turbo boost
LOL (grin) sorry !

that turbo part is called a waste gate, and opens only as max boost is reached, so the engine does not explode. (5psi? = par)
that is what it does and can stick , jam and leak and for sure
full of carbon, driving just 3 miles per day. and nasty job to clean all that out.
so get (er) done, find a shop and tell them your turbo is acting up $$$$$$$$$$

Toyota hilux 2011 model trouble code p2716

here is some info. I hope it helps.

This is a code relative to shift solenoid malfunctions in your computer. This is a known problem on your model and Toyota released an updated PCM to correct the problem.
While you can replace the PCM yourself if you are out of warranty, your dealer will need to code your VIN to it in order to get rid of the check engine light.
The warranty coverage is 8 years or 80,000 miles from new.

The details of the bulletin are below:

My 1994 Subaru Legacy Touring (Turbo) Wagon is not shifting properly when taking off. It does not shift until 3500 rpm at 20 mph. The initial shift should be around 2000 rpm. All other gears seem...

Hi,
The 1st>>2nd shift on the Subaru 4EAT automatic transmission can be more abrupt, but 3500 is too high.
Is there any delay when shifting from Park to Drive?
Does the Power light flash on startup? If it does, you can pull the codes by following these instructions.

This trans has 'bands' that can be adjusted. I'm not 100% sure they affect the 1st>2nd gear shift, but maybe they need adjusted.

Take a look @ ultimatesubaru.org/forum and http://bbs.legacycentral.org. 2 sites dedicated to Subarus.

Good luck,

Pressure Control Solenoid D electrical fault (P2716)

There is a Bulletin on this concern, and it is a warrantable condition for 8 years or 80,000 miles so you are still covered by the factory warranty.
The problem is a logic issue in the PCM. The correction is a new PCM with updated software.

I wrote in yesterday about my 1995 Volvo 850 (approx 160,000 miles) with leaking valves that will required about $1200 more in work. I appreciate the good responses I've received. One more question:...

yes I do believe you can easily get 200k out of her. I have seen a few volvo's with over 250k on them. As long as maintenance is kept up, she'll keep purring

Fault code 45- how do i repair it?

The code 45 in a later model is for the AWD control module causing harsh shifts. On a 2000 model the warranty per recall is 8 years and 100,000 miles. For your model you can try calling a dealer about recalls.
