When the ABS light is on and stays on when driving means the vehicles computer has sensed a problem in the anti lock brake system and has shut off the system until it's repaired. You could have a problem with one of the wheel speed sensor, a bad connection or the ABS pump, you will need to take it to a service center and have the system tested.

ABS means your brakes may not stop your car properly at high speeds and make the car wiggle and swerve.
I don't know what the code means but if I was you I have the brakes checked.
read more about the anti-lock brakes here, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-lock_braking_system
HELLO,IS YOUR ABS STILL WORKING..TEST BY DRIVING ON SOME DIRT,APPLY BRAKES HARD.IF PEDAL PULSATES AND KEEPS TIRES FROM SKIDDING THAN ABS IS WORKING..AND YOU HAVE A BAD SENSOR ON ONE OF YOUR WHEELS..OR IT COULD MEAN TIME FOR A BREAK JOB..BUT YOUR BREAKS AREN'T NOTHING TO TAKE LIGHTLY SO GO GET THEM CHECKED BY A PROFESSIONAL..ASAP..
It means you are driving in All Wheel Drive mode (not recommended for driving on regular roads, so turn it OFF), and that the Anti-lock Brake System module has likely failed (possibly because you were driving around on regular roads with All Wheel Drive turned on).
abs light means anti lock brake system and the light is telling you that they aren't working properly. you still have brakes it just won't be with the anti lock system your vehicle has. you will need to have your brake system checked out.
no,the ABS system monitors just the anti lock.when the light comes on the anti lock system is disabled.you'll need to have the system scanned to see what codes are stored.this will tell you what area the problem is in.the car is still safe to drive you just wont have the anti lock portion like are cars prior to abs.
The ABS warning light means there is a malfunction in the anti lock system on the brakes. This will not affect the conventional braking system on the car which will continue to operate normally.
The car is safe to drive as long as you recognize that it will now be possible to lock up your wheels under hard braking or when braking in slippery conditions where the tires have poor grip.
The problem with the ABS malfunction is that you no longer have an anti -lock assistance on the brake system so in certain conditions, such as on a wet road, you will be able to lock up the wheels on the car when you brake hard. The anti-lock system identifies and retards lock up (by releasing brake pressure on a wheel or wheels) and allows the wheels to keep turning slowly even when you have full pressure being applied on the brake pedal.
The ABS system relies on sensors and if one or more fails you will get an ABS warning. It could be a faulty or dead sensor but it is impossible to say without testing and inspecting the vehicle.
The ABS has it's own fuse so you can check the fuse box in the car to ensure the fuse has not blown. The fuse location is shown in the car's owner's manual. A blown fuse would trigger a warning.
You should take the car to a competent brake specialist to have it checked and the problem rectified.
I would say if you are not having problems with your brakes ( ABS means Anti-lock Brake System) then it is probably a broken wire on the wheel sensor that is right next to the drive shaft.
Have someone plug an OBD II reader in and see if you have any codes, please letme know what you find.
If you are having brake problems take your car in and have a reliable auto center repair.
I have had the same problem with my 96 aurora. I have a scan tool, but when this happened no codes were shown. My scan tool does not show codes for the Anti-Lock Brake system, or the Air Conditioner system. So, if your ABS light is on, its a problem with the ABS system, if not then there is a problem with the A/C system (which was my problem). There was a pressure sensor on the A/C system that was faulty (on the firewall up top in one of the A/C lines) The part was cheap around $15, but the system will **** out all the coolent as soon as the sensor is loosened or removed, so it should be drained, then have the sensor replaced and probably change the oil in the system at the same time so you dont end up with your A/C compressor succumbing to Black Death. Good luck, i hope this helps.
