Problem with fuel guage on my 1994 Mercedez Benz C180

check for fuel flow,check for spark.If it has both could be immoblelizer.
check keys do they need batteries.They should be changed every two years

its a bit dificult find a good technician and ask him to see the guage inside the fuel tank for fault
i suggest dont try this at home

sounds like a fault with the comfort control module.if u go to the passenger side front door u can pop off a plastic cover on the handle and this will allow u to open the car with the key.

check your fuse it should be bad

ask your authorized dealer for ordering the right part,or may check first the fuel pump relay

float unit need changing and its in the tank

The dashboard in the benz c180 is always good and highly illuminated.
I doubt that there may be some problem with the power to the lights present in the dashboard.

And i am sure there are no adjustment for illuminating the dashboard.
you need to call benz service centre for this problem.

If yours is the same model as mine (W201, 1993 model) on the left rear underbelly, just ahead of the left rear axle you will find a sub-assembly of the fuel pump and fuel filter. Caution, there is no way to isolate the fuel line, so if you're going to replace it, do the job on an almost-empty tank.
