-To preface the issue; there was an existing issue with the exhaust, somewhere between the back seat and drivers seat. Yesterday, on my way home from the bank, my car seemed to "sputter" when I would press on the gas pedal. There was already a lack of power due to the exhaust leak, however this time seemed much more severe. As I approached the Highway entrance ramp, I released my foot from the gas pedal. When I pressed back down to accelerate, the engine rev'ed as if it was in neutral. Simultaneously, the heater blower was shutting off and turning back on. I pulled over and shut the car off. 30 seconds later it started right back up and went back in gear. There was still a tremendous lack of power, however I was able to make it home. Any idea what the issues are?

Just a suggestion, but the EGR valve can cause that problem. If that checks ok, then I would have the catalytic converter checked for clogging. Both ideas would cause that specific problem. I sincerely hope that this can solve the problem, or at least head you in the right direction. Best wishes.

Your noise sounds like it is power train related,If you have eliminated the engine,Since it doesn't make the noise while moving and in neutral.
It sounds like a universal joint in the drive shaft.Do you notice a vibration
along with the noise?

Why would a dealer not be able to find the issue?
Start by checking codes.
If you have to, drive with a scanner, not a code reader on it,to capture data.
If it only has issues when turning the steering wheel and is speed related with the turning, you have a place to start.
I assume the dealer did all that.
I have a 2004 V8,so let me know, what help you need.
