Sounds like the alternator pully broke. If so then you need a new alternator.

SOURCE: #5 cylinder misfire

I have a corolla and had #4 cylinder misfire also diagnosed at autozone. After changing the spark plugs, problem persisted, along with the same error code, so they recommended changing the spark plug wires, and that is what fixed it. I would have changed the rotor cap too, but was low on dough. Glad that was not the problem.

SOURCE: 2002 mazda protege5 auto battery light coming on

I'm guessing that you've tested the actual current output of the alternator then. I'm assuming that the output is between 13-14Volts at the battery when the car is running... If it's too low, then it's not charging your battery at all, too high, and it's frying your battery.... Another thing that can cause this is if you have a short in your electrical system.. that, however, will be difficult to narrow down...

No compression

Dont worry to much the Millenia is a non-interference engine so the valves did not get bent. You just need to re-adjust the belt again in its proper position.

I have a 200l Mazda Millenia, with only about 37,200 actual miles, is it prudent to be concerned about the timing belt just based on the miles, or should I just be concerned with the year of the car in ref...

Timing belt shuold be changed every 60000 miles and I havent read any reference to to changing timing belts according to how old it is so I personally would not change until it has to be. It terms of having the car checked and tuned, if it has been a long time since the last checkup it would not be a bad idea as millenias can be very troublesome if preventative maintenance is not taken.

Gas tank door

I had one gas door solenoid replaced under warranty. Since then I have just shot a bit of WD40 onto the post comng from the solenoid that holds the door closed. Do this at each oil change and the problems should stop.
