First of all, I would read the owner manual. Second, if you don't understand the manual consult a mechanic, dealership or other experienced driver.

This is how I shift my 2005 ram into 4-hi:

while driving at a speed of greater than 15mph, reach down and shift the selecter lever into the 4-hi gear. For shifting into 4-low, I start the vehcile, shift the transmition to neutral, turn off vehicle and proceed to shift the selecter lever from 2-hi to 4 low.

The 4x4 gear shift is located on the floor right? after you have the truck running, and parked, just shift it into either 4low or 4hi(for highway driving) When you dont want it in 4x4, you can shift it into 2hi at any time.

hope this helps

I own a mustang and I don't know but if I were you I would take it to a dealership or ask someone else that you know with this model and find out if they can help you.

Does jeep need to be in four wheel drive all the time

There are 4 different versions of 4wd used in Jeep vehicles.
Some are full time 4wd and some are not.
You would need to figure out which version you have.
The info would be in the owners manual.

How much will it cost for a mechanic to change oil pan gasket on my 1998 chevy blazer 4wd big v6 engine?

Gasket = $35 (permatex rubber)
Labor - my manual says 3 hours.
You'll have to be responsible for figuring out the labor price per hour depending on where you are located.
In MI, a garage is about $50/hr, and dealership = $85/hr
CA might be $95/$150/hr.

Parts are minimal on the job - its all labor.
Figure in about $20 for shop supplies... gasket remover, sealant, rags, etc.
