Lincoln LS Remote Entry System

My 2000 LS, has a problem with the remote entry system. I can lock all doors, except the rear door on drivers side, with keyfob. If you try entry into this door w/o disarming system the alarm goes off. If you manually lock this door from inside, it simply stays locked until you manually unlock it. Not sure if the problem is in the rear door or the drivers door? I tried the other keyfob(hardly used) have same results. Any help would be appreciated.

EXACTLY WHERE IS THIS CONTROL SWITCH MODULE LOCATED?

  • ddelaet Feb 09, 2009

After gaining access to the R. Rear door motor and disconnecting it from actual door handle, it worked fine. The door handle assy. was removed, lubricated, and put back together, it works fine!

You will have to access the latch in that door.Measure the voltage between left rear door lock actuator C704 pin 2, circuit 33-AA15 (YE/GN), harness side and ground, while pressing lr lock to ON; and measure the voltage between left rear door lock actuator C704 pin 10, circuit 32-AA16 (WH/BK), harness side and ground, while triggering the lr unlock to on.
If you have voltage there then actuator is bad and latch assembley will have to be replaced.
If you do not have voltage there then the REM module itself is bad.It is located in the trunk on the right side behind the carpeted panel. It would have to be programed if replaced.

  • Anonymous Feb 02, 2009

One thing I forgot to mention. Drivers master switch goes thru the drivers door module to the FEM module before going to the REM module. The passenger door lock switch goes directly to the REM module. So try it from the passenger door switch first to see if it works then. If it does not then do the diagnosis I listed previously. Also a LS does not have a seperate actuactor like most other cars it is part of the latch assembly itself.

  • Anonymous Feb 09, 2009

After giving detailed instructions as to exactly how system worked and where actuator was located. He then takes it apart, cleans it and gets it to work then rejects the sugestion? Hmmm. Does this happen on here alot?

This problem is a faulty door lock actuator.

To access and replace, the door panel must be removed.

It may be as simple as a loose connector, but as all 3 other doors work properly - that rules out fuses and relays.

Once you have the door panel removed, you will see an electric solenoid actuator.

Lincoln LS Remote Entry System - 7fc7579.gif (Figure 1 is the locking actuator)

Pulsed on one trigger it will extend. And on the other - will retract.

If there is no movement, check for 12V at either pole while pressing the lock AND unlock buttons.

When you verify power, a replacement will need to be obtained. Factory OEM replacement is expensive, but an easy swap-out.

Many aftermarket companies make generic ones that may require modification of the mount.

2004 Lincoln LS 3.0 will drain the battery overnite. Found open circuit at fuse #20 passenger compartment fuse panel. It is labeled FEM DATC Cluster REM.

Two issues, the battery drain and the door unlock. You must determine what is causing the drain. Check wiring, inspect for shorts, ensure proper connections. Otherwise, consult a professional mechanic or auto electrician.

As to the issue with remote locking/unlocking could be related to the Remote Entry Module (REM).
The REM controls several features, including door locks, windows, lights, and more.
Since the doors lock automatically while driving, it indicates that the central locking system is partially functional.
However, the lack of response to the remote suggests a problem with the REM or its associated components.
Consider checking the REM's connections, fuses, and wiring. These electrical problems are complex. You may have to rely on a professional to sort out the diagnosis. An auto electrician can check the communication between the REM an the actuator and other components. What are the locations of the Remote Control Door Lock Receivers RCDLR in a 2015 Malibu?

According to GM there are 3 components in the RCDLR or RKE remote keyless entry system. My key fobs with new batteries only work standing right next to the car. The range of the key fob dropped at that the same time my TPMS tire pressure monitoring system repair warning came on my dashboard. The problem is that there are 4 different components on the 2015 Malibu. I will provide the GM part numbers for these, if you please tell me where they are and also how to replace them: #13583559 Remote Control Door Lock Receiver #13502554 Antenna #13502551 Ignition Lock Key Transmitter Antenna #13502549 Low Frequency Console Antenna

2000 Mountaineer long delay on remote door unlock. To unlock the doors I have to hold the key fob unlock button as long as 10 seconds efore the door unlocks. No idea the cause.

Time for a new key fob ? Does it work good for locking the doors ?
Module Controlled Functions The multifunction modules consist of the following:
  • generic electronic module (GEM)/central timer module (CTM)
  • remote anti-theft personality (RAP) module (15K602)
The remote anti-theft personality (RAP) module controls the keyless entry, and computer operated locks systems.
The GEM/CTM controls the following features:
  • wiper/washer (front/rear)
  • warning chime
  • battery saver
  • illuminated entry and courtesy lamps
  • driver one touch down power window (GEM only)
  • accessory delay
  • 4 wheel drive (GEM only)
  • For keyless entry concerns, refer to Section 501-14B .
  • Keyless Entry The keyless entry system components consist of the following:
    • keyless entry remote transmitter (15K601)
    • remote anti-theft personality (RAP) module (15K602)
    • driver unlock relay (if equipped with two step unlocking)
    • all unlock relay
    • all lock relay
    • keyless entry keypad (14A626)
The electronic door lock system has three main components: the remote anti-theft personality (RAP) module, attached to the rear left hand quarter panel, the three-button (hand held) keyless entry remote transmitter (15K601), and the keyless entry keypad (14A626) on the driver side door.
The door locks are controlled by the RAP module through three external relays: the driver unlock relay (if equipped with two step unlocking), the all unlock relay, and the all lock relay. These relays are located in the relay box on the LH rear quarter panel.
The keyless entry remote transmitter initiates the following electronic door lock system functions:
    • Unlocks the driver door (if equipped with two step unlocking).
    • Unlocks all doors.
    • Locks all doors.
    • Enables the panic alarm.
    • Issues the interior lamps on (when unlocking) and off (when locking) commands to the generic electronic module (GEM).
    • Sounds the horn (13832) once when LOCK on keyless entry remote transmitter is pressed twice, and doors are closed.
    • Sounds the horn twice when LOCK on the keyless entry remote transmitter is pressed twice, and any door or the liftgate window is ajar.
    • Allows up to four keyless entry remote transmitters to be programmed.
    • The order that the transmitters are programmed into the module will set the memory seat to the corresponding position when the driver door is unlocked with the transmitter.
NOTE: The remote entry features will not function when the ignition switch (11572) is in the RUN or ACC position.
The keyless entry remote transmitters are reprogrammable and must be set at the same time.
To confirm that the doors have been locked and that the anti-theft system has armed, press the LOCK button again, within five seconds of the first press. The horn will sound once if the doors have locked and all doors are closed.
  • Inspection and Verification
    1. Verify the customer concern by operating the electronic door lock control system.
    1. Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical and electrical damage; refer to the following chart:

      Visual Inspection Chart Mechanical Electrical
      • Binding latches

    1. If the concern remains after the inspection, connect the scan tool to the data link connector (DLC) located beneath the instrument panel and select the vehicle to be tested from the scan tool menu. If scan tool does not communicate with the vehicle:
      • check that the program card is properly installed.
      • check the connections to the vehicle.
      • check the ignition switch position.
    1. If scan tool still does not communicate with the vehicle, refer to the scan tool manual.
    1. Perform the DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST. If the scan tool responds with:

WHAT IS THE SEQUENCE OF #"S TO PUSH ON A 2004

If you have some "new" key, could try to re-programed and synchonized, you must have all remote entry transmitters (maximum of four) available before beginning this procedure. To reprogram the remote entry transmitters (accordign with the Lincoln LS Owners Manual) :
1. Ensure the vehicle is electronically unlocked.
2. Put the key in the ignition.
3. Turn the key from the 1 (LOCK) position to 4 (RUN).
4. Cycle eight times rapidly (within 10 seconds) between the 1 (LOCK) position and 4 (RUN). Note: The eighth turn must end in the 4 (RUN) position.
5. The doors will lock, then unlock, to confirm that the programming mode has been activated.
6. Within 20 seconds press any button on the remote entry transmitter.

Note: If more than 20 seconds have passed you will need to start the procedure over again.

Hope this helps (remember to rating this answer and leave a testimonial comment).

HOW CAN I UNLOCK MY 2004 LINCOLN LS? SLIM JIM...RESET KEYLESS ENTRY???

Your keylles code is located in the label on Security Module. To find it, open the right/rear door and pull the on-body weatherstrip slightly away from the body at the rear side of the door opening. Fold and lock the right/rear seat back down into the locked position.

Carefully pull the trim panel that houses the seat belt height adjuster and anchor pivot off of the body. Now carefully pull the lower trim panel from the inside outward far enough to expose the VSM (Vehicle Security Module). This module has three electrical connectors plugged into it, coloured green, grey and blue.

On the module is a label bearing a number similar to 4L2T-15K602-EA. On the same label will be FIVE large numbers. Those five numbers are your five digit keyless entry keypad code.

Additionally, if you have some "new" key, could try to re-programed and synchonized, you must have all remote entry transmitters (maximum of four) available before beginning this procedure. To reprogram the remote entry transmitters:
1. Ensure the vehicle is electronically unlocked.
2. Put the key in the ignition.

4. Cycle eight times rapidly (within 10 seconds) between the 1 (LOCK) position and 4 (RUN). Note: The eighth turn must end in the 4 (RUN) position.

The door lock on driver side front doesn't work anymore with the remote, the other doors are working fine on a Lincoln Ls 2004

Try using the Keyless Entry Pad

If that won't open the drivers door,
then you will need a scan tool, to see
if it can comunicate with the DDM -
Drivers Door Module.

That may be a possible problem, if
everything else works

I have a 96 ford conversion van with a 600 plus addon keyless system and need to program new keyless remots , need to know how to get system in program mode.

Hi.

To program ( or reprogram ) a keyless entry remote transmitter into the remote keyless entry module, perform the following steps:

1. Turn the key to ON or ACC and short the two terminals of the program connector, a two-pin connector located below the driver's side of the instrument panel at the base of the steering column. All doors should lock and then unlock.
2. Press any button on each keyless entry remote transmitter in turn. All doors should lock and then unlock. If the door locks do not respond, press the button again (up to three times maximum with the same keyless entry remote transmitter). If the door locks still fail to respond, go to Pinpoint Test A.
3. Repeat Step 2 to program additional keyless entry remote transmitters into the remote keyless entry module (up to four keyless entry remote transmitters maximum).
4. Turn key off.
5. Remove the short from the program connector. All doors should lock and then unlock.
6. Verify that the keyless entry remote transmitters have been successfully programmed by pressing the LOCK or UNLOCK button on each one, and observing that the system responds by locking and/or unlocking the doors.

I hope this helps you.

Thanks!
