My 2000 LS, has a problem with the remote entry system. I can lock all doors, except the rear door on drivers side, with keyfob. If you try entry into this door w/o disarming system the alarm goes off. If you manually lock this door from inside, it simply stays locked until you manually unlock it. Not sure if the problem is in the rear door or the drivers door? I tried the other keyfob(hardly used) have same results. Any help would be appreciated.
You need to check all ground points, check also the article here, it is about same poroblem on a Cougar, I think it can help.
Sir,
Try this link
Remove the door panel check whether all connection is correct or not. The back door panels are indeed on with clips they are just builtextremely well remove the four screws and use your own light handedstrength and pull firmly i also used a clip puller in some spots, butsome of the clips are in the center more than on the edge. Applaudlincoln for there craftmanship.
or better to replace the door lock switch.
Tookneedle nose pliers and forced the cable on the lock lever to the lockposition and heard a click, presto problem fixed. Now to put the leftdoor back together!!
thanks
goodluck
You will have to access the latch in that door.Measure the voltage between left rear door lock actuator C704 pin 2, circuit 33-AA15 (YE/GN), harness side and ground, while pressing lr lock to ON; and measure the voltage between left rear door lock actuator C704 pin 10, circuit 32-AA16 (WH/BK), harness side and ground, while triggering the lr unlock to on.
If you have voltage there then actuator is bad and latch assembley will have to be replaced.
If you do not have voltage there then the REM module itself is bad.It is located in the trunk on the right side behind the carpeted panel. It would have to be programed if replaced.
One thing I forgot to mention. Drivers master switch goes thru the drivers door module to the FEM module before going to the REM module. The passenger door lock switch goes directly to the REM module. So try it from the passenger door switch first to see if it works then. If it does not then do the diagnosis I listed previously. Also a LS does not have a seperate actuactor like most other cars it is part of the latch assembly itself.
After giving detailed instructions as to exactly how system worked and where actuator was located. He then takes it apart, cleans it and gets it to work then rejects the sugestion? Hmmm. Does this happen on here alot?

This problem is a faulty door lock actuator.
To access and replace, the door panel must be removed.
It may be as simple as a loose connector, but as all 3 other doors work properly - that rules out fuses and relays.
Once you have the door panel removed, you will see an electric solenoid actuator.
(Figure 1 is the locking actuator)
Pulsed on one trigger it will extend. And on the other - will retract.
If there is no movement, check for 12V at either pole while pressing the lock AND unlock buttons.
When you verify power, a replacement will need to be obtained. Factory OEM replacement is expensive, but an easy swap-out.
Many aftermarket companies make generic ones that may require modification of the mount.

If all doors are locking expect the passenger door, but locks manually then it problem with locking motor on that door ,you need to replace the locking motor on the door of the car ...
Good luck....
Its the wiring problem in the control switch module.just open the module and reconnect all the wires if necessary also change the wirings and check.
May be there is signal reciveing problem there .
Hi!
Please check if the child lock had been on by mistake.
Thanks
Rylee
If the child lock(switch on side door) is not set then check the wiring of back door as it might be faulty .
Also check the wiring information .

Did the child lock get set by accident. It is a switch on the side of the door where the latch is.

I did check the child proof manual locks, they are positioned correctly.
I need more troubleshooting tips, more detail.
EXACTLY WHERE IS THIS CONTROL SWITCH MODULE LOCATED?
After gaining access to the R. Rear door motor and disconnecting it from actual door handle, it worked fine. The door handle assy. was removed, lubricated, and put back together, it works fine!
