I studied about I read about the prom I learnt all abo¡ut this kind of irregular fails that even experiencied machanics can´t solve ...( It took 6 months and seven mechs to solve )..
the cars falls in limp in mode ( a kinda mem programmed mode for a few minutes and everybody thinks it the crankshft sensor , the ignition module , the ecu fial etc simply is code 51 : mem cal fail and limp in state i suggest work with and a code reader and it could be that kind of irregular fail..

SOURCE: my 83 cutlass supreme check engine light on

sounds like could be a carb providing an excessive amount of fuel any signs of black smoke from exhaust ), overdue need of spark plugs, or if everything proves ok, a faulty ox sensor

Just got a 1990 olds cutlass suprime.has the3.1 v6.car has set outside for 1 year and not run.has trasmission leak at the pan.plan on replacing fiter and gasket.how much fluid does it take?car runs rough...

Just changeing the filter and gasket, you shouldnt need much more than 4 liters (1 gal) just keep checking and dont over fill it.

as for the rough running after warm up. could be mass air flow sensor, to test, when car warm, tap the sensor wiht the handle of a screw driver when its running.. if it stumbles or stalls when you tap it. then it needs to be replaced. it could also be coolant temperature sensor, or leaking EGR valve.

Car stalls when you let off the gas when warm or idling

sounds like your IAC (idle air control valve) located on the throttle body towards the front of the engine held in by 2 torx screws. the iac controls the idle if the car when your not on the gas. i will post the steps to clean the iac and the passages that the iac goes into.

1. disconnect the iac connector
2. remove the iac
3 clean the iac pintle valve and check for wear
4. clean the passages that the pintle valve sits in (usually carbon build-up in there, you may need to remove the air intake tube and air filter box to get to the passages in the throttlebody)
5. if the iac looks ok and the passages are cleaned re-install and put everything back
6. start car and see if it idles like normal when warmed up. you may need to give it a few tries for the iac to re-learn its proper position so give it a few warmup cycles
7. if it still stalls check for proper operation of the iac via ohming out the connectors (if you look it up on google you will find the specs at which the iac is supposed to operate)
8. if the iac is working properly, check for vacuum leaks on the intake manifold and vacuum lines.
9. if no vacuum leaks are present and the iac id working properly after cleaning have a shop check the ecm (engine control module) for a bad circuit board, i've seen that haoppen as well

hope this helps!

95 Ciera Hesitates & stalls when warm

Change the IAC the idle air control. You may be able to clean it and put it back on.

Lack of power

You need to check a service manual on this but it sounds a bunch like a cold-start valve isn't closing once the engine is warm and this would cause an overly rich fuel-air mix that would gag a warm engine. I don't know if your car is equipped with  one or not.
