Wont start i have an 86 toyota tercel and one day i was driving and he battery light came on and it died so ok i but a new battery in it and it wouldnt start so we put a new alternator on it and it ran just find about 3 hours later the battery light came on and it died again and wont start just like before and suggestions
SOUND LIKE IT MIGHT BE DODGY ALTERNATOR YOU CAN BUY A ALTERNATOR TESTER FROM HALFORD. AND CHECK ALL CONNETION FOR WERE PARTICALLY THE BATTERY CONNECTION

the record is 6 new ALTS, and none work,
then bad wire found.
have your alternator checked it sounds like its putting out low voltage you can do it you have a volt meter just hook it to the battery terminals you will be looking for a range of 13.5 volts to about 14 volts if your under thirteen its not enough voltage for the car to run and charge the battery at the same time.
if it runs and drives ok ,then a small pc of black tape will hide the check engine light :)
