1997 Nissan Altima. Dashboard lights.

While driving at night dashboard lights go off and on. The headlights and taillights stay on however. All electrical components work fine and do not go off and on {heater, radio, wipers etc}.

I have a 1997 nissan altima 2.5 and my fuse blew my dashboard and taillights an once I replaced the fuse it wld blow again afther a few seconds or mins wht could cause the fuse to blow

You could have a corroded connector for the tail lights. That would be most likely. A good visual inspection would be a good start. Trace the wires coming from your tail lights to a connector. I would unplug that connector then, try to put a fuse in. If the fuse does NOT blow. You have found your problem. That's the approach I would take to start looking for this

Problems with dashboard lights

The switch that you are talking about... the dimmer switch, must not be working. If you have warranty left, i suggest you take it in. If not, maybe find a good auto wrecker, and replace the switch yourself. I'm guessing they'll be expensive.

Dashboard warning brake light stays on continuosly nissan altima

Try this, Since you are applying the hand brake. Manually pull up on the emergency pedal and see if the light goes out. If this does work then you could have one of several problems. but, I am thinking that you might be able to adjust the brake tensioner if this car has one.
