I would advise having the Idle Air Control Valve checked first, before anything else. This is a very common problem, and can be easily checked and repaired for around $75.00.

What are the probable causes of DTCs P0031, P0603, and P1148?

Clean out you idle air bypass valve with carb cleaner. P0031 air/fuel sensor 1 heater (B1)bank 1, p0603 engine control back up circuit,p1148 closed loop B1. Broken heater in upper O2 sensor is one if not all of your problems. Replace all of your O2 sensors & reset engine light.

Hi i have a 2004 vwlt 2.5tdi when the engine gets warm theres a tapping/rattle from top of head i seem to be worse as you let of the throttle,no smoke or lost of power any suggestion cheers jeff

MOTOR IS NOT GETTING ENOUGH OIL TO THE TOP END TO LUBRICATE VALVES AND LIFTERS. POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS; OIL PUMP NEEDS REPLACED, ENGINE NEEDS FLUSHED, OIL AND FILTER CHANGE. BAD RESULT MOTOR WILL EVENTUALLY BLOW UP IF NOT ATTENDED TO SOON.

Need to check fuel pump pressure. Have you changed the fuel filter? New plugs?

I have a 97 tracker that lopes at idle bad any ideas what it is

Could be a vacume leak. Need a vacume gauge. Hook up to a vacume port should be around 17-20 inch pounds of mercury (steady). If not this check your emissions system
