I have a similar problem different year. I ruled out coil packs for this reason. My check engine light does not stay on after starting. It starts fine. No rough idle. Plenty of power. Great gas milage. No blue carbon smoke from exhaust pipe. Engine runs perfect. But stalls like it is starved for fuel. Dies. Then restarts in ten minutes. Not even cooled down. This problem was erratic. Then it became a steady every 15 miles. Now it is every five miles. Like clock work. Changed the plugs. The wires. The battery. Fuel pump. Battery wires. And cables. Cleaned every ground I could find. Changed fuel relay fuse. No blown fuse in main panel. Any suggestions on what to do next?I have a similar problem different year. Without knowing the year of your vehicle, I can only assume that a component, probably the ignition control module is getting too hot. This could be the module is bad or the resistance between the coils and the spark plugs is too high. Check the resistance in the ignition wires to see if they are within specs and check the spark plugs themselves.
A new module could solve your problem but, if the cause of its predecessor's failure is not fully addressed.it could happen again.
hi this sounds to me like its def a fuel problem, if you have done the fuel filter i would check for mositure or water in your fuel, if that comes back ok i would check your fuel pump relays or the actual pump itself
I just had this problem on my 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Once the engine got warm, after about 15 to 20 minutes, the car would just die at random times, sometimes when doing 40 mph and sometimes at idle.
I ended up changing the Crankshaft Position Sensor and it cleared the issue.
