Probably your blower resistor has gone. Try checking passenger side firewall under hood, up under cowl, is a usual place for them. Will have a connector on it, and about 1-1/2" x 3" in size.

The heater on my Maxus only works on the windscreen? The blower only works on High any suggestions on how to make them work?

Could be the ignition switch - on some cars the high blower position is directly wired to motor - the other speeds go thru the ignition switch and if there is a problem, you have no operation unless you put it on full blast and bypass switch.

You may have a fuse/relay for the lower speeds - check for that also.

Heater blower only works on high

Most likely the blower motor resistor or the fise for the low speeds. The high setting for the blower motor is on a separate circuit than the other lower settings.

My heater blowers dnt work and i need to knw where i can locate the resister blocks for my heater blowers so i can ghange them

Its located under dash,or near glove box.

The dash panel lower side has to be out.

HEATER BLOWER MOTOR

Its faulty blower motor resistor. The low and medium speed on blower motor is controlled by resistor and its actual speed is high. So because resistor is not working, blower motors actual speed which is high is working.

It can be faulty blower motor or faulty blower motor resistor. Get the blower motor inspected. If it's faulty it has to be replaced.

My blower fan only wrks on high. is there 2 separate fuses?

The blower fan only working on high is caused by only one thing, that is a defective blower motor speed control resistor, the resistor is located next to the blower motor in the air ducting, replace it and the problem is solved.

2005 jeep AC and heater blower only high speed works

check fuses, then wiggle speed control while moving, may need new dash control for lower speed, usually high speed works through relay may be the reason high speed works

I only get the fan to work on high speed, the lower speeds do not work

Hi!!
The Blower Motor Resistor also called Manual Temp. Control resistor), is fried, replace. The price with floor console $25 and without floor console $65. here is a pic.
87b9810.jpg

the resistor is located on the blower motor housing, fastened by two screws. It is the part where the electrical plug connects, the plug on the pic. goes to the blower motor.
A HELPFUL - 4 THUMBS rating for this solution would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for using FixYa.

Heayer doesn't work

The resistors provide resistance in the circuit, dropping voltage to the blower motor to slow the motor speed down. On high, the blower receives full voltage through the blower relay.

If you had High but no other speeds, then the resistor pack is usually the culprit. If you have all other speeds but high, the most common problem is going to be the blower motor itself, relay, or the switch panel.

You can check this by turning the fan speed to "high", unplug the blower motor, and check to see that you have roughly at least 12v at the plug. If you have 12v, that means the switch panel is activating the relay and the relay is working. Over time, heat kills the magnetic properties of the magnets inside an electrical motor. Without enough magnetic energy, you may not get enough opposing force to spin the rotor full speed when the windings energize, but still enough to spin at lower speeds.

Another thing you can check is the connector at the blower motor and the switch panel. Sometimes these will heat up, start to deform, and cause a bad connection. The bad connection may be able to handle the lower current draw on low speeds, but the higher resistance from the bad connection won't be able to handle the higher current while in the full speed position.

Hope this helps, keep me posted. be glad to help you get your heater working again soon.

Blower motor doesn't blow anymore, This blows

If it blows only on high speed, it is the resister.
If it does not work at all, check fuses first. See owner manual for location.
Then check blower motor by jumping 12 volts from battery to blower motor. Make sure ground is jumped too.

If it works now, it's the control panel. If not, it is the motor.

Blower Motor —Front Removal and Installation
  1. Prepare the vehicle for blower motor (19805) removal.
    1. Disconnect the battery ground cable (14301). For additional information, refer to Section 414-01 .
    1. Remove the air cleaner assembly. For additional information, refer to Section 303-12 .
  1. Detach the speed control servo.
    1. Disconnect the electrical connector.
    1. Remove the bolt.
    1. Position the speed control servo aside.
  1. Position the coolant expansion tank/windshield washer reservoir aside.
    1. Remove the screws and the nuts.
    1. Position the coolant expansion tank/windshield washer reservoir aside.
  1. Remove the blower motor.
    1. Disconnect the vent hose.
    1. Disconnect the electrical connector.
    1. Remove the four screws.
    1. Remove the blower motor.

Also,

Heater Blower Motor Switch Resistor(s)
The front heater blower motor switch resistor has the following features:
  • The assembly is located in the engine compartment on the evaporator housing (19850) next to the blower motor assembly (19805).
  • Three resistor elements are mounted on the resistor board to provide four blower motor speeds.
  • Depending on the heater blower motor switch position, series resistance is added or bypassed in the A/C blower motor circuit to decrease or increase A/C blower motor speed.
  • An overheating device (thermal limiter) will open the resistor coil circuit when the temperature reaches 121°C (250°F), interrupting the blower motor operation in all speeds except high.
  • The thermal limiter cannot be reset and is not serviceable.
