Question about 1998 Lexus LX470

Hey i have a LX470 2000,When the car is moving the AC Is cold,but when the car is in traffic it started to get warm,i put gaz and changed the fan clutsh and still the same,any idea ?

You would need to know what the high and low pressure readings are at idle and cruise speed.

    A mechanic would check the high and low pressure readings with a set of gauges to watch the condition of the system and to make sure it is full of freon. High should be at least 200psi and low should be at least 35psi at idle.

Have your a/c condensor fan checked out. It most likely is not working, or is not functioning at full speed. When you are driving air is being pushed through the condensor helping to keep your a/c cold, but when sitting in traffic there is no air flow if the condensor fan is not functioning at full speed.

2003 mercury sable, AC will blow ice cold until I spend too long sitting in traffic then it starts to blow warm, if I shut AC off and start moving after about 5 minutes I can turn it back on and it gets...
It's gathering frost inside. When you turn it off & drive around for a short while, it defrosts & starts working again.

I'll bet when you park it, you find a pretty large pool of water under it half an hour later, don't you?

Sorry, that's the nature of the beast - it's worse in humid weather, not so bad in dry weather. Pretty nearly all cars (with AC) do that unless the AC is designed oversized.

I drive a 2002 honda civic, when the engine is hot and i am in traffic,the car drops to below 20km/h and can't go more than that speed,if driven that way overheating starts.
car is cold and moving is OK if not moving getting hot could be thermostat stuck close or rad.is clog.

AC blows warm air whil idle or at first start
U could be run on eco a/c where the engine is using the power until it has extra to spare. Warm at start could be simlarly that there is now cold air yet and has to "make" cold air to distribute when ready. See if u can find a setting for reg use. cheers, ps eco saves dollars/euros.

The two statements are contradictory. The thermostat should assist in warming up the engine in the cold but if it is stuck closed it would overheat but warm up quickly. Overheating in the summer could be the fan not kicking in in traffic. You can check a thermostat by boiling it in water and observing the temperature at which it starts to open. This information should be stamped on the unit. You can also watch the fan to see if it kicks in with the engine idling when hot. If it does not it could be the thermostatic switch or the fan itself.

The ac starts out cold and stays that way on hwy driving but starts blowing warm air in stop and go traffic. why?
Either clutch coil is heating up and letting go Or one of the sensors is defective. Or there is a restriction somewhere in the line (open up hood and look for frost on a/c lines.)

Recently had a thermostat replace on my 2003 chevrolet impala
sounds like the fan motor is not coming on.open hood start engine and let it run until it has had time to fully warm up and see if the fan comes on if not then check fan relay and fan motor

Over heating when idle in traffic
if ac dont work idleling it start to work when you move our fan is not coming on because when you activate the ac compressor kick in and fan should come on if it start to be cold only when you drive the force air cool the condensor ac work temp goes down HOPE IT HELP FIXYA OUR POST THANKS . PIERRE
