Question about 1987 Volvo 760

Need wiring diagram for 1987 Volvo 740 GLE all the wires were cut to old radio...have new one and don't know which wires to trace to hook up

SOURCE: 1990 volvo 740 speedometer quit working

There is a speed sensor on the rear diff cover that may me shot, however it is regulated by hertz so the dealer is the best place to see if the wires are okay. That sensor can be costly.

SOURCE: all belts came off , 1986 740 gle 4 cly. with air nedd to know diagram

On the 92, the belt closest to the engine goes around the power steering pump, water pump, and crankshaft pulley.

The second belt goes around the alternator and the crankshaft pulley.

The third belt goes around the a/c and crankshaft pulley.

Fuel pump is located on drivers side below rear driver door area near rear axle. Fuel filter is located next to pump.

I would like a diagram of the 740 gle 1990 tail light wiring, I cannot seem to get them working correctly
You don't really need a diagram, it's simple. If you open both tail light boxes in the trunk you will see at the connector on the bottom a yellow wire in the first position. That goes to the brake bulb. If both tail lights do not work, make sure you are getting power to the driver side light first, if it is not getting power, the passenger side will not work either, they are in line with each other. If it is only the passenger side not working, the bridging wire could be bad.. try jumping it. Also, make sure you are getting power inside the tail light bulb holder. The metal connections can come loose. If there is no power to the driver side tail light it could be the bulb failure relay, that is the round red relay in the rear left side of the fuse box behind the ash tray/ cigarette lighter below the radio in front of the shifter. You should be getting power to the third brake light in the rear window...that is a different circuit and will not be affected. Try changing out the bulb failure relay, it supplies the power to the tail lights.

I need a diagram to show me how to hook up my alternator for a 1989 volvo 740 gle
How could you need a diagram for 3 simple wires?
There is only the large wire out to the starter that bolts on with a nut, the small wire plugged in from the dash, and a ground wire that has a nut bolting it to the shell.

hi you need to turn the petral mix it just on the carb so if you take on the air breaver then you can get the right mix and its allways good to use red x or some good cleaning or even do the cleaning your self could even do with a full overhall like plugs coil and condencer and leads thanks ben

Check under the hood for a box containing your fusible links (they look like large blade fuses in most modern vehicles). The fuel pump relay only operates the fuel pump. It doesn't provide power to the rest of the fuel system. Odds are the fuse for the injection system is blown. The inside of the cover of most fusible link cases usually has a diagram which tells what each fuse is. The easiest thing to do is locate that fuse and remove it (with the vehicle off of course) and visually inspect to see if it's blown. If it is, simply replace it and see if that corrects your problem. While you're under the hood you might want to trace the wires back to their origin and check to be sure the harness is not rubbing or chafing against anything that might have caused wires to break and short. It's rare for those fusible links to blow without a reason.
