SOURCE: like 3 days after i got my oil changed in my 2006

This is an idication of a severe oil leak. Check the oil level in your engine to see if there is any in it. Add to the full mark and return to the oil change shop and ask them to see where the leak is. Do not operate without oil. Severe engine damage will occur. Hope this helps Moe

SOURCE: i have a 2008 chevy malibu and i just had my oil

  1. Display "OIL LIFE RESET" on the Driver Information Center (DIC).
  2. Press and hold the "ENTER" button for at least one second. An "ACKNOWLEDGED" display message will appear for three seconds or until the next button is pressed. This will tell you the system has been reset.
  3. Turn the key to "LOCK/OFF". If the "CHANGE OIL SOON" message comes back on when you start your vehicle, the engine oil life system has not reset. Repeat the procedure.

I have a 2015 Chevy Malibu I just recently had an oil change but my change engine oil soon light has come back on and it’s not even close to being due for another oil change. Also when my husband checked...

You meant Check Engine Light (CEL)?

Possibly a stuck injector. Be careful, as enough fuel gets into the oil it will lose viscosity and then be burned leading to insufficient oil level and a ruined engine.

Keep a close eye on oil level.

Get it to the shop to have codes read and evaluated ASAP.

How to drain and fill transmission fluid in chevy malibu 2012??

mostly to drain transmission oil it is necessary to remove the pan. At 72000miles I suggest that you have an accredited transmission shop do the job as it will be due for a band and clutch pack adjustment and filter clean and general service and this can all be done while the pan is off.

Too much oil in car

You may siphon the excess oil by the engine dip stick tube after you have removed the oil dip stick, using a small plastic hose long enough to reach the oil pan and attached to an empty plastic bottle to which you have drilled a hole on the cap and sealed the hose with any material like chewing gum to prevent leakage, compress the bottle to empty the air and allow the suction to remove the excess oil . Check the oil level with the oil dip stick and continue the operation until you have reached the desired oil level. This will prevent you from removing the excess engine oil by the oil pan drain plug.

Good luck with this project.......I done this before and it works.

I put to much oil in my 97 malibu what do I do

oil drain plug is on the bottom of the oil pan, which is under the engine. a proper sized wrench will remove the oil plug. have a large drain pan ready, (5-6 quarts). You might as well have an oil change done at this time as its just a guess how much oil you remove by quickly re installing the plug while draining. If you do drain just a little oil, keep checking the dip stick to be sure not to add more than needed. Add a 1/4 quart at a time. be sue to tighten the drain plug JUST SNUG.

Transmission stuck in higher gears on highway/fluid fill level

The 1998 Chevy Malibu does not have a transmission dipstick. Instead there is a check plug located on the transaxle, near the pan, adjacent to the engine oil drain plug.

Note: the vehicle must be kept level when checking the transmission fluid level.

Place an oil container under the check plug and remove it. Observe the fluid as it drips into the pan, indicating correct fluid level. The fluid level should be at the bottom of the check hole. Double check to make sure the car is level. If no fluid drips from the check hole, some fluid should be added via the red cap. But add only a little at a time until the fluid is at the bottom of the check hole.

After getting an oil change, two weeks later my 1998 Chevy Malibu makes a lots of noise and cuts off, what is the problem.

Have you checked the oil? Sometimes the shops don't get the drain plug in tight and the oil leaks out. Or the oil filter is not put on tight and leaks all of the oil out. I would check the oil. Walmart did it to my mothers car once. They replaced the motor, but that is what happen.
