Could be the coil, ignition module in the distributor, or various other things.
I would check the coil for battery voltage and resistance first.

SOURCE: 97 chevy 4.3 liter no spark no fuel pump running.

4.3 and 2.8 motors have a ceramic module in the distributor. if you have alot of miles on the truck, and there is no spark, that module is usually the culprit. easy to replace with a nut driver and some dielectric grease. mod is located in the distributor when you take the cap off look straight dowm and its right there.
also check eec relay and fuse. that will also cause the prob.

SOURCE: i replaced my spark plug wires and spark plugs and

check the ignition modual under the dist. cap

it looks like you changed all the ignition parts. so Yes you got fire......................but you don't have gas. or it would start. check for fuel again. somethings wrong. if you had gas, it would start. i dont think your getting fuel

Wont run
Try checking those sparks again. It could be a weak spark not enough to start your engine.
Make sure also that you have fresh gasoline, as gasoline or diesel looses it's effectiveness after a long time.
