1994 chrysler concorde wont start in very cold weather. I have had the fuel pump replaced, and the gas filter changed. I was told that it seems that the car is not getting gas so that it will start. I thought getting a fuel pump and a gas filter that the problem would be solved. It worked great for about a week. Would the fuel line need to be cleaned out. I thought maybe something like ice or a piece of carbon might be stuck where the gas goes to start the car. The car works great in the warm weather but when cold weather comes it gives me trouble starting, like it is not getting gas. I just bought fuel injector cleaner and will put that in the tank tomorrow. Hoping that will help get the car started. Thanks.

SOURCE: fuel pump makes a stuck up noise, or maybe the fuel filter
|Hi there.
Niall In General Auto repair in Ireland here.
Maybe the fuel pump has broken and needs to be replaced.
Take it out and bench test it if it works remove the fuel filter and turn the ignition on but not the engine and see if fuel is being pumped up maybe it is only a blockage .
I Hope this helps.

I doubt their is an access to the fuel pump threw floor board MABY in trunk the proper procedure would be this 1. Get the part 2. Disconnect neg. batt termanal 3. Drain the tank (fuel pumps like to quit on a full tank for some reason). 4. disconnect filler neck, fuel lines and wire harness (you may have to lower tank a little to get the lines and harness) 5. remove support straps 6. Lower tank 7. clean off top of tank where the pump comes out. 8. using a brass punch or something non sparking remove the lock holding pump assembly in tank. 9. carefully!! remove pump. 10. install new strainer on new pump and install. you might buy a new filter as well as most new pumps require this for warrenty on the ground with hand tools this can be done in aprox 3-4 hours!!

Sounds like a short maybe. maybe the wire completely broke? if you know a technician, see if the fuel pump is even getting power when key is on

If it runs ok when warmed up, I would change Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor. This sensor sends a signal to PCM to adjust fuel for differnt temperatures, and if it's telling PCM that engine is already warmed up, then that's all the fuel it will deliver, when engine is actually cold and requires more fuel and higher idle.
