Someone tried to steal my 2008 Jeep patriot and now my headlights don't work and my heat doesn't seem to be as hot. There wasn't any wires or noticeable damage from the steering column except for a wooden air freshner jammed into it. I haven't contacted my insurance company as I haven't noticed anything else. Can these 2 problems be a result of someone trying to steal it?

I'd say so! THey probably tried to start it by pulling wires under the dashboard like on television. Check the wires coming out of the headlight switch to see if one or more isn't pulled off. Also check around the stearing post for the wire that connects the high beam/low beam switch. The heater is another problem. Is the heater fan working? If so the problem mis the thermostat control...check that it still opens/closes the valve on the hot water hose that goes into the dashboard core.

You'll need a new ignition switch. After installation, the dealer can either reprogram your old keys or you can buy a new key and have it programmed.

SOURCE: 2008 jeep patriot wiring has gone haywire. took

Open the power distribution center box near the battery and remove the asd relay that should shut it down. as for the problem itself, it could be a bad relay, a bad ignition switch or some odd ball thing that needs testing to find.
Good luck!

Jeep patriot no heat

fan blows?
engine reaches and holds 180F or more , normal engine temp?
(use a IR pyro gun to measure it)
ever go a cooling system flush, if not the heater core could be packed full of junk.
id the dampers fail , its not in heat mode.
check the dampers after checking engine heat.

it only takes 2 things to make any water to air heat exchanger to work.
hot water
and actual air flow.

check for hot water first (engine coolant)

Rear brakes are noisy while driving

The job wasn't done correctly, that is obvious

Most places don't remove any rust so parts slide
as they should ,nor do they lube anything

I have worked on brakes for 50 years come july & never
had a noise or hot,no issues

When you say changed out, that's what you got
It is called hanging pads, slap them on & done.

You have brake hoses & claipers to consider, parking
function,etc

If they don't release for some reason, you have heat & noise
Sloppy work

MIL indicator came on today in my 2008 Jeep Patriot. It seems to be running fine. What is the possible cause for this? I can't get an appt for service for 2 weeks! Is it safe to drive?

go to an autozone and get a scan done and depending on the code you may be okay for 2wks. and also if the check engine light is not blinking.

Beaming Headlights

if you are looking down at the headlights from above there is a whiteish nylon screw that you can use either an allen wrench or a phillips screwdriver. Clockwise lowers, Counter clock raises.
