RKE won't open the trunk, niether will the glove compartment release. Trunk was open then the wind slammed shut, now won't open
Something broke on the lock mechanism. In order to open the trunk, you will have to remove the rear seats and try to access the trunk area. Once you are in the trunk, you should be able to manually open the lock and investigate what broke.
Testimonial: "Thanks, I got in like you said. Didn't find anything broken. Just jiggled it and it's been working since. Thanks a mil. Joe"

not entirely sure about your buick, but I have a 2000 pontiac that has a switch just inside the glovebox that deactivates the trunk switch. that, together with locking the glovebox would prevent someone with jsut the valet key from gaining access to the trunk area.

Try this forum. I had the same problem and they were saying to take off the trunk release actuator. I did and it worked. Don't take the whole piece off of the trunk lid (although if you do, it's easy to put back on), but take the one piece (the actuator) off of the latch. I don't know anything about cars and I was able to do it. Not hard at all. Take a look at the forum:

It seems like the Trunk Release Actuator is not working. Most likely it will need to be replaced with a new one.
