2005 dodge magnum new battery wont start flick key 4 times check engine light flashes

engine light flashes ???? Your best bet , take it to a qaulified repair shop , right now , damage the catalytic converter is happening .

that is exactly what you need to do, and your problem should be behind you.

Change the battery in it, A battery that is weak can cause warning lights to come on, End if left to long with a bad battery evan after you replace the battery, Might have to be taken in to a dodge dealer. to clear them with a (Sranner)

Sounds like you need a new key to me. When they start and die like that, the security system is not seeing a good key. This has to be done at a Dodge or Chrysler dealership. They can cut a new key and fob combo their as well as program them with their scan tool. It will cost about $200.00 to do this. The two cranks to start is a weak fuel pressure regulator. Probably located on the the fuel pump. May be serviced seperate now from the fuel pump assembly. Ask the dealer they will know.

Same thing happened to my 2005 dodge magnum. Took it to the shop, we thought it was a computer issue. Flashed the computer and it didn't help. It ended up being the thermostat and some other parts. The shop had to remove the whole front grille to replace a part that went straight through the top of the engine. The part is plastic and had cracked and was slowly spewing coolant all over the engine. The car was basically overheating but so little that it was not evident at first. Once they replaced all of that the lights stopped coming on. Very frustrating to say the least.

Battery!!! if you have altered anything radio, lights ect. check to make sure it is not drawing while the vehicle is off

well start by checkingALL the fuses then check all wire connections to make sure we have good contact esspecially at the battery

you need to see what the eng lite for if there is a trans codes usually the pcm wont let the speed go over 40 stays in safe mode untill you fix the problem or change the sensor,for the esp you need to chage the esp sensor and recalibrate by the dealer

Your battery is probably ready to be replaced. It needs a long slow charge or when you try to jump start with another car, you need to leave the jumper cables on for 20 or 30 mins at least. This will bring up the level of your battery and perhaps it will start.

For future reference the only true measure of a battery;s condition is by measuring the state of the electrolyte in the battery. To do this you need 2 things. Onew is a small charger. Not a bad thing to have with winter coming on. You can get one for under $30. The second thing is a hydrometer. This is a meter that tells you the specific gravity of a batteries electrolyte> you can get on for under $5. To use this device you take the covers off the top on the battery, put the rubber tube into the battery and draw up some liquid.. A reading in the green is good condition. One has to check all 6 cells, because what typically happens is 4 od 5 cells will check good and the others will not. TIME to replace the battery.BTW, these measurements should always be made after the battery has been charged.
