This all depends on if it is a factory or aftermarket radio ,

The first thing would be to remove the radio and test wiring, with key off the memory wire needs power, this wire should be yellow but may be a different color.

check all the fuses even the under the hood fuse box.

SOURCE: 2001 toyota corolla blows 7.25 fuse when turn on ac

I unplugged the wire, replaced the fuse and started the car. Then, I turned on the ac button and the fuse blew. Do I need to replace the whole compressor with ac clutch or just the ac clutch? Thanks so much.

which fuse did you check. verify the wiring to the radio than comes from the light switch to the radio. if all this worked before , then it has to be work that you have done. the only link from the light switch to the radio is for inst panel dimming. first disconnect that wire and ck fuse for tail lights. make sure there is power on both sides of the fuse, use a test light.

SOURCE: tryig to install an stereo o my toyota corolla but

Switch the ignition off and remove the key. Take a 12v light bulb and connect a wire to the chrome body of the bulb by taping it in place. Connect the other end to any metal part inside the cabin. You can use a clothes peg or insulation tape to hold it in place. Take the bare ends of any of the wires you have available as potential power leads and touch them to the lead contact on the bottom of the bulb. If it lights up it is to the battery. You must use an in line fuse on this wire. Isolate any other battery cables. Switch the ignition to acc and test again. Any wire that lights the bulb is working off the acc. If you touch the chrome body of the bulb with this wire you will blow a fuse.

SOURCE: 1990 toyota corolla stereo wiring codes

what you need is to buy a wiring adapter for your car.it only cost about 15 bucks and plugs right in to your original plugs that were connected to your factory radio.the great thing about this adapter is that you dont hava to cut your original plug off just in case if you ever want to reinstall your original back.also the wires that go to your new headunit are color coded to match the exact colors that you connect to your stereo.you can't mess your connection up because all you have to do is connect each wire to the right color, tape them up,connect your stereo and you have music with all of your speakers working like they should and without any headaches.i hope this info helps.take care and good luck, manny

Newly installed BOSS car stereo was working fine. Had to jump start vehicle-now radio is dead. Won't turn on. Did I wire the power wrong?

Check the fuse. And did you hook up the yellow (memory) to a constant power. Or the red wire. Memory is constant

Was fiddling with car stereo, accidently touched black and yellow wire, think I've blown something cos now neither stereo or central locking works! Please help.

Black is ground, yellow is battery constant power for memory (clock, station memory, etc...) you burnt the fuse for that constant battery power. Just check for burnt fuses

Which is the fuse for radio in toyota celica vvti

There are 2 fuses for the stereo. One is constant power and the other is switched by the ignition but they both show constant power at the fuse. Seems odd but thats what I got. One is located in slot 24 with a 15 amp fuse. It's the 6th one to the right on the top row. The other is located in the fuse box under the hood. It is the second to last fuse in the bottom row. It should have a 25 amp fuse. If you are using an after market stereo, you should also have a fuse on one or both your red and yellow wires and usually one on the back of the unit.

I am trying to install a sony stereo into my 91 corolla and am having an absolute mission trying to figure out which wires go to what. Do you have any insight or a wiring diagram?

If you go to a stereo installation place, or some auto supply places carry them now too, you should be able to get a plug-in adapter, to go from one to the other & save yourself a nightmare. If not, do you have basic wiring experience & a test light 12VDC?
