Tow it to the dealer, they have the code to deactivate the alarm system.

A lot of GM models of that era can glitch if say, the window was down and you opened the door from the inside the. Tried to start it.

So aftwr trying to start, roll up all windows and close it and lock it from the fob.

Then hit emergency button if your has it, then hit unlock to clear the emergency. Then lock it.

Wait a few minutes and approach it as normal and see if it works. Also, if your fob battery is more than a year old replace it. Best wishes.

I just had this same problem with a '96 . do you have a vats key in your '94? you need to bypass the VATS system. read some of the blogs on this site and it will tell you how to do it. I fixed mine with a $2 resistor from radio shack.

SOURCE: starter disabled due to theft system

the wire that goes to the ignition to the anti theft device is probably broken if you call a good locksmith they can go in through the steering column and fix it same thing happened to my 95 eldorado apparently cadillac designed the anti theft system to coincide with the ignition and is connected to the ignition with two wires that turn as the key is turned the wires twist and eventually they wear out

My 2005 Lincoln led won’t start but all lights and radio work is it the starter

The starter ? Probably not . Without testing would just be guessing . The starter electrical system on your vehicle is computer controlled . The PATS - passive anti-theft system will disable the starter if there is a problem . There is a little red light in the center on the top of the dash that blinks when the key is off showing that the system is armed . When trying to start the vehicle if that light flashes really fast there is a system problem . Your best bet ,have it towed to a qualified repair shop.

89 firebird anti theft code won't let car start

If code 53 involves the PASS system for your car, the chip in the key has failed, or the sensor in the lock cylinder, or the control module.
The anti-theft system disables the starter and the fuel injectors. You could bypass those circuits to get the car started.

2007 Buick Lacrosse will not crank (mimics a dead battery), but the horn blows at each attempt to crank the car. Am told it is the anti theft device that is causing the problem. How do I fix it?

I'm gonna have to disagree on the anti-theft. In most cases the vehicle WILL turn over but will not start because the anti-theft shuts off ignition spark and fuel. If you are not getting anything at all I would start by looking at the starter. Now there is a fuse for the starter you can check. That fuse is located in the fuse panel under the hood of the car on the passenger side of the vehicle. Below is a diagram of the fuse layout. The fuse you will want to check will be the fuse in the number 33 position and is what they call a "J" type fuse. If that is blown you may have a short in that circuit or the starter itselff may be bad and causing it to blow. Just for your information, even if the lights and horn work that doesn't mean that your battery isn't low. It takes quite a few amps to make the starter move and if you are low on power the starter will not work but in most cases you would at least hear a click. If your not hearing anything at all I would start with the fuse and go from there. I hope this helps and good luck.

Looking for instructions to replace starter on 2005 buick lacrosse

to replace the starter:
1. disconnect the neg. battery cable
2. jack up the car and support with stands (safety first!!)
3. starter is located one the front of the engine
4.mark wiring with a lil paint, (anything) so you know how to put them back on
5. 2 bolts, and it's out!
reverse procedure to install

note: if the car has a remote start, when reconnect the battery cable, starter may engage. have key fob (remote) in hand, to disable the system.
