Sounds like possible vacuum leak. Next time it starts try spraying starting fluid around vacuum hoses, if engine speeds up, there is a vacuum leak at that point where you sprayed. Hope this helps.
How about the spider injector that might be the reason your vehicle is running rough and using up tp much fuel. The fuel regulator is part of the spider injector and it costs about $40. or $ 50. but if the injectors are bad then you will have to replace the spider injector, which will cost you $200. or less. From my own experience dont jujust change the fuel regulator and then have to buy the spider injector. It is best to make sure that it is not the injectors also. The fuel regulator is know to go bad on 95 GMC Jimmy believe me I have had to replace many other parts because of the spider injector.
engine rough at idle only?
is the check engine lamp on?
remove egr valve
start engine to blow out carbon
check egr to see if there is carbon holding the valve open
clean valve
reinstall retest
To check EGR valve, plug the vacuum hose to it, and it should not get hot anymore. It if does, it is leaking.
But gas smell is usually bad plug wire or plug.
With good insulation, remove one sparkplug wire at a time, to see if one has no effect. That is the target.
HI
P0300 is multiple misfires.
P0171 is lean burn on left bank 1 means drivers side
02 sensor is faulty. Your vehicle is over fuelling that is why your are getting P0300 code and the rotten egg smell. Good idea is to replace both 02 sensors.
Try to unplug the mass airflow sensor and start it. It will idle higher but should run fine. If it works then you need a MAF sensor. Be sure you have an OBDII code puller to clear the computer when done
My problem was solved when I repaired my 4 wd activation dash switch. The switch was contacting on 2WD & 4HI at the same time. The front differential activation is vacuum activated possibly creating a tug of war that didn't actually engage it but drained off vacuum from the engine? A theory at best but stumbbled across it because I knew the switch wasn't working properly I repaired it and low and behold rough idle disappeared and all is good for 3 weeks running.
I have a 1994 Cadillac Eldorado and every time i start it the car has rough Idle and the Idle fluctuate's. I also can feel it in the gas pedal when the car is doing this I tried replacing the throttle body sensor but it still does it I also was told it was the Idle error sensor. So instead of spending the unecessary money again I thought I would go online and see if anyone could help me with this problem.
