So my car will randomly ,while in mid-drive, shift into neutral. When i first put my car into drive it takes a second for it to get into gear and it kinda jerks into gear and starts going. I have only driven it a few times like this but i think it is either when my car is about to shift into 3rd or 4th gear is when it just shifts down into neutral. All this the car is still moving, it drops into neutral until i get down to about 20mph and it goes back into gear. I just dont understand what the problem is and im really tight for money so i really need to what is wrong so i can tell how much money i am going to need to spend.
Check transmission fluid if ok . change transmission fluid and filter.
It sounds like the transmission solenoid or possibly the transmission itself trying to go out

most likely a valve body or a shift solenoid issue, but at the very least the trans pan and valve must come out and or be replaced, those 2 parts are fairly expensive, but don't know how much and don't wish to mislead you, have the shop look at it, u can always decline the repair.
