Hyundai Motor 1998 Accent Logo

My 1999 Accent GLS stalls completely after a couple of minutes either mobile or stationary after starting it. It takes atleast 30 minutes for me to wait and then start it again and then after a few times then its stalls again and I have to repeat the process over again. I do try cranking and pumping on the gas pedal but the attempts are always futile. I always end up waiting patiently for the engine to get cold ( I assume) for me to be enable to start it. Can someone help me?

It starts and runs well after sitting all night but stalls after I turn the ignition off and try to start it again and/or dies out while I'm on the road.

Just checked and the battery and oil lights came on after I started the egnine and let the it ran. It went on for about 10 minutes and stalled (after the engine warmed up). Same lights came on when I cranked it again..

Go to www.hmaservice.com and register( Vehicle by VIN). Afterward, you have access to shop manuals, service bulletins, wiring diagrams, etc. about your vehicle.

2007 Hyundai Accent GLS won't start when it's cold

probably need to be using a lighter weight oil. I use 5w-30 in central Texas. If you are that far north, where oil gets cold and thickens up....

have dealer verify by dropping off for service, parking outside overnight, and then try to bring it into the service bay next morning for service.

Hyundai Excel X3 / Accent X3 has trouble starting, a lot of vibrating and shaking.

This is starting to sound very much like a blocked catalytic converter on the exhaust system. Try unbolting the exhaust in front of the catalytic unit and see if it will start and run normally. If it does then the unit needs replacing, if not then thats me tapped out for ideas.

2003 cts stalls out when i stop

Sounds like the Crankshaft Position Sensor. Its about a $50 and 30 - 45 minute fix if you are handy with cars.
Try this link.

I did mine in about 30 minutes. I used a 1/4 drive, u-joint and a 12" extension instead of the thumb wheel. Worked great. Good luck and hope this helps.

My 1999 Hyundai Accent stalls. After few minutes of driving, the car stops and after 15 minutes it re-starts. What is the problem?

When your driving say about 20 or 30 minutes, the car, no matter what, just dies. If the engine cools down, it will start and run just fine, for about another 20 or so minutes, and same thing? Change the coil. its bad, it over heats, and pow. when it cools, works great. Had that happen to me. hope this is the problem

PASSKEY LOCKOUT RESET ALL GM CARS 1999 AND UP
1) Put the key in the ignition and turn to the "ON" position. Leave it that way for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes turn the key and take it out. Repeat this process (2) more times (3 times, 30 minutes total) This should reset the PASSKEY system to recognize your key

Need obd reader for hyundai accent gls 1999

Sure you can. Put a scanner on the diagnostic connector under the dash and check for codes. The codes you get ,do not tell you what is wrong or what to fix,but a starting point for the diagnostic steps you need to take, to find and repair the issues your having. Now --you need an understanding of your vehicles systems and possibly a wiring diagram, to reach a successful conclussion. That's where a professional shop comes in.

99 hyundai accent starts sometimes. not battery

ok when the check engine light comes on that usually indicates a engine malfunction...what you can do is go to your local autozone and they can do an OBDII test for free..my bet says it is the cam or crank sensor.. DO NOT SHUT THE CAR OFF AT AUTOZONE..LOL
