Key would not make clicking sound when inserted and would not turn, i replaced with a new battery and it still will not turn over, i charged the new battery to make sure that wasnt the issue, still did not work, i have been told you can put it in neutral somehow but i am not having any luck finding the correct instructions on how to do this
I have had the problem with my 2003 2 years ago and recently happened again.
I have a Range Rover specific scan tool and determined nothing was wrong with the security system, etc
The igniton switches do wear out and replacing the switch will fix the problem, but before this try spraying the key with WD 40 insert and remove it continuing to spray the key, wipe off all dirt that will show up on the key as you do this.
It took about 20 cycles of this and then my key began to work, continue spraying then cleaning key off a few more times for good measure.
Mine now works like new. I am sure though that I will have to replace the switch at some point.
Hope this works for you, good luck
SOURCE: radio display
If the radio is of the newer LCD variety and most of them are of this type the reason would be because behind the display are usually 3 small lamps /light bulbs used to backlight the display and they are probably all burnt out and need to be replaced. This job cannot be done by most people and best repaired by an electronic technician with a soldering tool.

SOURCE: radio screen doesn't show but plays
There is a problem inside the radio and a specialist needs to strip and repair if possible.Check with your dealer if they know someone to do this.
