The volume in the stereo is not working in my volvo s40. It has not sound at all. What has caused this?

IF THE RADIO DOES NOT TURN ON CHECK THE FUSES IF IT DOES TURN ON TRY PUSHING THE VOLUME CONTROL DOWN OR PULL IT AS IF YOU ARE TAKING IT OUT IF THERE IS CONTACT IT WILL SOUND THEN YOU NEED TO CHANGE THE KNOB

Code volvo s40 HU-405

Hello! The code for a HU-405 stereo can be acquired at a Volvo Dealership...However, you will need the part number of the radio...It is located on the same sticker as the serial number...

My radio and cd player work but there is no display, I cant tell what station is on or what track is playing...

yes your radio is broken the led display is broke need to replace for around 100 bucks any auto or stereo store

I have a 2000 volvo s40 and the mechanic said the radio needs to be replaced. i found a replacement radio on ebay for $100 - will i need to buy a replacement kit as well? (I won't do the installation...

You need to supply the serial number from the back of the chassis of the radio as well as the vin # to Volvo, to get the code

Random check engine light on 1999 1.6 xs s40 volvo

The light is indicating an emission system failure. Take the vehicle to your local Auto Zone or Advance Auto and ask them to scan your car for trouble codes, they will do it for you at no charge. Write the codes down and reply back to me and we can begin diagnosing the problem.

Radio Code 5162 had the same problem this is the code if not call dealer they will be more than happy to give you code,at no charge

Each radio has a different code. You need to call a Volvo dealership and read them the vin number and they can pull the code up for you

Passenger compartment fuses are all behind the drivers side (left) kick panel. You should only need a #2 philips head screw driver to remove 4 or 5 screws. After you remove the screws gently pull out on the lower right corner to disengage a plastic tab. The panel then should now come out disengaging metal tabs on the upper to corners. Fuses are on the left.
