2002 Pontiac Grand Prix fog lamps do not work

I replaced the bulbs in both and they still do not work. my switch on my dash does not light up at all. Could the wiring be messed up?

U DO HAVE THE HEAD LIGHTS ON RIGHT? THE FOGS GET THERE POWER FROM THE HEADLIGHT CIRCUIT, THEY CAN'T BE TURNED ON UNLESS THE HEADLIGHTS ARE ON.

I had the same problem. My mechanic checked it for me. He found that the wiring connection on the back of the switch had worked itself off over time. He connected the wiring and it works perfectly.

First replace the light switch. It controls all the lights you said don't work. The key chime is a small white switch on top of the ignition You have to remove the steering column bezel to get to it. They stick.

Your brake peddle switch may be out of adjustment or defective. Look under the dash to the peddle & about half way up you will see the switch. Make sure it is releasing & working properly. Good luck!

Only brights work, dimly lit headlamps, no fog lamps

Recheck the bulb number. This happens when the wrong bulb number is installed. Otherwise it could be a bad headlight ground.

Yes, you can replace just the bulb. A local auto parts store may be able tell you which bulb you need or you'll have to pull the bulb out and take it in.
