Disconnect one of the spark plug wires and put a spear plug in the wire, place it so that the plug is connected to the block and crank it over you will be able to see spark in the gap. if it has spark

1.1 mm is the standard gap for a platinum tipped plug. Plugs for this car usually come pre-set but it's always worth checking before installing. Hope this helps.

1997 Volkswagen Jetta. The sunroof wont close. What to do??

Question edited for clarity.
Question moved to model category.

No, disconnecting the battery will cause even more problems like the vehicle not starting and running rough for a week.

Just close the sunroof manually and then check the fuses and relays.

I do not have spark in number 3 and 4 cylinder at the coil pack of my 1997 VW Jetta GLX, what is the problem

Coil packs are a common failure in these vehicles. Check the coil pack for cracks and if it is cracked it will need to be replaced.

97 Jetta will not start

Sounds like there's no spark. Change the ignition coil. This is a common solution for cars that won't start due to lack of spark. To check for spark, pull a spark plug wire and hold it near the manifold and have someone turn the key to crank. If you don't see an arc of spark coming from the wire, this would confirm your spark problem. Hope this answers your question.. Best of luck.

95 jetta spark

It sounds to me like there is moisture in the engine somewhere maybe coolant leaking back into the engine and you also have a cold start sensor and I would definitely have the fuel pressure check you said you check the fuel pressure and you say there's no spark but there's a difference having a cold Spark so have the fuel pressure check thank you
