As an example, yesterday I was driving and the car just turned off completely while in drive. The engine light & this circle with an arrow on the end of it came on with a T in the middle. Now, I have brought my car to the Audi dealership approx. 2 years ago, and they stated they could not find anything wrong with it and charged me around $200 for doing nothing. I have been having the same issues as before several times and this is just ridiculous. It cut off on me 5 times yesterday. I will be going around 35 and it just cuts off, VERY dangerous. Then if I come to a stop sign it will cut off. Also the RPM's are all over the place, jumping up and down. The car only has 85k miles on it and I am just disgusted at this point. Any ideas of what the problem may be??? Thanks for your help :)

It's the brake pedal switch. There is a switch down on the pedal arm that closes when you press the pedal down, and sends a sensing voltage to the controller, telling it the brakes are applied. This allows the transmission lock to disengage so you can shift out of Park. When that switch fails, the lock won't disengage. You need to replace that switch and you'll be fixed.

They usually have igniters that will start to give out on the light bulbs. But if they did not find any faults then it would require a long diagnosis time.
