Therefore the door locks may have been changed before you got the vehicle. Then you can have a lock smith come and make you a key(they can do it without removing door cylinders) it will be much less than the dealer or you may need to try another dealer they may have entered wong information into the data system to make the key. I think you got a BAD key made, contact if you need more help. Good Luck, thanks for using FIX YA

Not sure about the Holden, but I do know that a General Motors can have a key cut by the dealership off of the VIN number. I would definitely check with your local dealership.
I'm afraid you have made yourself an expensive repair. If you had gotten ahold of a dealership in the first place they could have cut you a new key off of the VIN number, now you will need to purchase a complete ignition lock cylinder off of your VIN.
Most likely the switch has been changed in the past, if so the door locks too are often changed so the new key would work all of them, this sort of thing happens when salvage parts are used. Looks like you will have to go to the salvage yard this time write down the V.I.N. number of the salvage vehicle for future reference.
A ford dealership has codes to make you a new key. Bring in your ownership and ID, and they can look up your vin number and cut you a key. They don't like to do this because they don't make much money from you. All dealerships can access code for keys through the vin. Good luck and let me know how you make out
If you lost just your key, Go to the dealership with your registration and ID. They can cut you a key from your VIN number. Hope this saves you a head ache Cheers from Nova Scotia!
You can get a new key at the dealership, your going to need the ownership and the vin number to the car. They can get the key code to cut a new for you so you don't have to replace all the locks. Good luck and keep me posted.
the best way to get a new key is write down your vin number and take it to the dealership, they can pull up your vin and cut a new key for you without having to have an old key. you can call them to get a price, but shouldn't be too much.
take the vin # and your title to your local ford dealership, they can cut you a new key, but you have to show them that your the owner of the car.. good luck keith..
