Check Engine Light On

May have a cooling fan that has malfunctioned mounted on the radiator. Check under the hood for a fan or two mounted on the inside or outside the radiator. If you find one or two, start the car and let idle watching for fan(s) to kick on when thermostat gets hot.

Duplicate see other post. This is an airflow issue at the intake. The vehicle could catch fire. Dont drive it.

please some specification what motor u have with diesel or what?

I drive a kia sorento and i have had a similar problem. I have a hitch on the back and the electrical connection was bad and kept blowing fuses. I removed the electrical hookup. Easy to do as it is a plug conected to the harness of your vehicle. Located underneath your vehicle just above the rear wheel well on the passenger side. Your fuse panel is located under the hood of your vehicle next to your battery. Remove fuses one by one and check for any that are blown. I hope this helps.

I have a 03's sorento and this is quite a common promblem with these cars. First there has been a recall for these cars, if you havn't got it done, get it done, It's free of charge. The recall is the Camshaft Position Sensor. It will cause the car to run unstable, break and engine stall and causes accident and the engine light will come on. Secondly I had the same promblem that you were having, engine was shaking and sputtering and check engine light came on. What I found out is it is the EVAP Emission control system leak large bank 1 & bank 2 system too lean sensor problem. Had to take it to the shop to get the mass sensor replaced. It was a $900.oo + job, I recommend you taking it to the shop to get it diagnos to see what code it is giving you so you would know what exactly you are dealing with.

Could be lot of reasons but check the engine light code to see whats wrrong then you can start from there. Good luck

the check engine light stays on if there is trouble codes in the computer it could just be a simple miss fire that triggered the check engine light to come on i would have a shop or auto parts store check the computer.

make life easy,take it to a dealer and get it on the diagnostic machine,you will get a list of things to do....

could be a cam or crank shaft sensor should have nothing to do with the headlights.

usually you can reset a check engine light buy disconnecting the battery for about 30 minutes.
