When I start my Aztec everything starts up fine. But when I put it in gear the Service engine soon light will illuminate but will not stay on after turning off the engine. I never get a code when I had run a diagnosis test. Also this light will not illuminate during the evening but will only during the daylight hours.

If wiggling the wires cured the code, then one of the wires is broken inside the insulation. Pull on each wire one at a time. look for the colored insulation to stretch, this will be the broken wire. For the other car that wont rev up, this is a common when the catalytic concverter is plugged up. This will also cause MAF codes, and in turn, TRAC OFF light.

There are 2 things that will cause this to happen. 1. The thermostat needs to be replaced and, 2. The coolant sensor can be bad. When I had this problem, I changed them both at the same time, she been just fine since then. Also, I had the check engine light on, and got the code from AutoZone (it's free!)

The service light means something is wrong with the car and it needs attention now. Get the codes checked and that will tell you what is wrong with it.

i had that problem once. when i got under half a tank of gas in the tank. What i did was i dumped one bottle of gas line deicer in the tank and i have never had it agian. you may have some water in the tank. from condasation or i have a stong feeling i got my water from the gas station. i was using the same station all the time. so i tryed another gas station and so far no more rough idleing which was caused by the water i think and i am getting better fuel milage to. i hope this helps.
