Put a 2002 4L60E in 95 S10

I have a 95 S10 with dead ****** 4l60E i have a good 2002 4L60E its a 2 pice case same length same plug ins the speed sensor is on opisite side the cooler lines are different but i can make lines does the computer see it or not as the wiring plugs are same only ask because i owne it

I dont see why it would not work if all the plugs are the same as long as you can make lines for the trans cooler

It sounds very likely that it is going lean. Could be a bad Mass airflow sensor or a fuel pump, maybe plugged injectors. The first thing to do if you can get your hands on one, is to put a scan tool on it that reads live data and go up a long steady hill while you are watching the O2 sensor voltage. It should toggle back and forth across .5V, if it remains below .5V while you drive, then you know it's not getting enough fuel. If so, check the fuel pressure to spec. If it is good, then the pump is fine and you're chasing the other two.

Installing the full-size Blazer trans into the S-10 would be safer. As long as they came off of the same size engine then yes, they will interchange. But.... the trans off of the S-10 is not built as strong as the trans for the full-sized Blazer, clutch capacity is less, band servo may have smaller apply area, and torque convertor stall speed may different enough to set a "code". Towing capability would be compromised. I have no idea what you meant by the "bolt for the plate".

both are 4l60e trans but the 95 is a one piece bellhousing 96 up have a removable bellhousing. The 1 piece transmissions are different.

THE 4L60 E HAS VSS VEH, SPEEDS SENSOR ON THE TAIL SHAFT OF THE BOX..
no speedo cables here. this year.
the cluster has 1 fuse, Marked INST-lps if blown the much of the cluster dies. means insturment lamps(LPS)

the question really is , all fuses good.
and if automatic trans
does the VSS go to the TCM (so it can shift right) then the TCM tells the ECU speed too. then it sense speed data to the cluster.
sadly the scans of the old paper book , are blurry and 100 pages long, i refuse to read all of those for all engines there
or transmissions not told.

ING fuse must be good , goes to cluster too.
the book, deep looking shows
DRAC
vehicle speed sensor buffer;.

here it is, and it drives the cluster directly
so is sensor ,wiring or the buffer bad.
the signals are very weak so the board here is a Ampifier
it states vss to ecm, tcm and cluster.
so if the ECM cans show the VSS dead we know
the DRAC is bad or the sensor left hear is dead.
the red circle below is cluster INPUT VSS.

I have a 95 silverado c1500 with 4l60e trans and it wont go into overdrive

overdrive is the fourth gear.D1,D2,D3,D4 now drive truck at 80 kmh
cruise at steady speed no fuel pedal movement, downshift from D4 to D3 you should feel RPM raise .. after push brake pedal a little you should see RPM raise 300 to 400 rpm.
shift pattern is 1st gear ,second gear,3rd gear and lock up(torque converter clutch). 4th gear with lock up

yes as long as they both have the same color plug,most have a green plug. you have to chek it on the transmission not the plug at the end of the wire harness that plugs into it.

WILL A 93 S10 4L60E FIT A 97 Z71

There were changes made to that transmission in 1994 so the answer would be no. It is also my understnding that both were used in 94 so you have to be careful there as well. If I remember correctly there should be a letter or maybe number cast into the case where the torque converter fits.I think you will find it at about the 10 o'clock position. If your trans has it you have to put that style back in. If it doesn't you can't use it. Hope this helps.

Can i replace the 700r4 in 88 s10 with a 700r4 out of 95 astro van.I believe s10 is vacum and astro is electronic

Sorry, it isn't going to work. The astro is a 4L60E and you will need to change wiring and computers to make it work. Also unless the s-10 is a 4.3, the transmission won't even bolt up.

It should work for you as long as there both 4L60E transmission, but take not there were a few changes to the transmission case and everything internal are the same. The key distinction of the Later 4L60-E (1997-2006) from the Early 4L60-E (1992-1997) or 4L60 (1990-1992) or 700R4 (1982-1989) is the six-bolt "hex" rear output or tailhousing / adapter pattern. The previous versions featured a four-bolt square bolt pattern at the adapter or tailhousing. Additionally, the removeable bellhousing is also another distinguishing feature. The Late 4L60-E transmission has a three piece case of cast aluminum alloy; bellhousing, main case, and tailhousing. GM shortened the package to 21.9" long - equivalent to a manual transmission of 15.4". Good luck and you should not have any problems swapping out the transmission.

Trying to put a tranny (4L60E) from a 1995 chevy suburban 1/2 ton, 2 wheel drive into a 1993 chevy 1/2 ton 4x4, but the end piece is different and not able to hook up transferr case ?

If the overall length of the tailshafts are the same, If I remember correctly, you can just swap the tailshaft housings.In some cases though, the output shaft needs to be swapped as well. Check with any transmission shop and they can tell you for sure!
