dont listen to them, easiest way is: remove air intake box(3 nuts)
remove nuts surrounding the outer gearbox(about 6) and then remove the gearbox mounts
lower the gearbox and move slightly to the drivers-side. best to put a block or jack under it. then take the fly-wheel off(marking where it sits against the clutch kit)
and then pull the clutch plate off, making sure all fingers are not bent. i picked up a full clutch kit 2nd hand for 25$

SOURCE: i have a 94 hyundai excel how do i adjust the

If the clutch is WORN OUT, there is NO adjustment. If you have recently replaced the clutch (disk), the adjustment is at the master cylinder (clutch master cylinder) push rod.

SOURCE: how d i change a clutch in a hyundai excel 1994

Hi first lift the car and be sure to secure the car that it wouldn't fall when your under the car, remove the wheels then disconnect the negative cable from the battery remove the axles, remove the transmission mount, remove the starter, remove the bolts around the transmission housing once you remove the bolts use a floor jack and put it under the transmission then use a prior and separate the tranny from the engine and bring the tranny to the floor now you have the clutch expose remove the old clutch and pressure plate and pilot bearing now do the same thing in reverse good luck

SOURCE: hyundai excel twin cam manual clutch repair

If you don't have the service manual specifically for the vehicle and the proper tools to do the task, i'd suggest taking it to the shop instead. It wouldn't be worth all the trouble. But in case your in need of a service manual, may i suggest going to ebay and checking to see if someone is selling the manual on cd for 99 cents. It may sound like a scam or something because service manuals on cd at the dealer average $150-$200. But if one is offering the manual for 99 cents, buy it. It's actually like a copy of the one they sell at the dealership, so before you start on that difficult task, i advise in purchasing a service manual. If they don't have it on ebay, go to your local auto parts store and buy one for $25. The name would be either Haynes or Chilton. Good luck.

Clutch goes to the floor and wont go into gear

Your clutch is failing to disengage, this is a different problem to a worn out, slipping clutch.

If the clutch is cable operated then the cause will be a stretched or broken cable (replace) or the cable is out of adjustment (you may need to replace any automatic adjustment mechanism, but not all cars have them. If it won't adjust out then the cable is stretched and must be replaced). If you're unlucky, it's a badly worn or bent clutch fork and that will require a new fork and complete clutch replacement unless the existing clutch assembly is known to be almost new, but the release bearing will need to be replaced regardless is there's a fork problem.

If it's a hydraulic clutch then it's likely that the master or slave cylinders have a leak and if so must be replaced or overhauled.

If the car has been left standing unused for a while, then the clutch plate may be stuck to the flywheel or pressure plate by rust. This can normally be shocked free but it's a dangerous process if you're inexperienced; in the worst case this will involve having the clutch replaced but it doesn't usually go that far.

Sorry I can't be more specific, but '92 Hyundai Excels were never commonplace to begin with and eighteen years later are as rare as hen's teeth. The vehicle pre-dates the internet so it's unlikely that you'll find any free "how-to" guides online (I can't find any) and as it was never a big seller Haynes and others won't have produced a workshop manual for it.

I hope that my answer has been of some use, but none of the causes are really DIY fixes anyway unless you're a very experienced home mechanic so you'll either need a knowledgeable friend or professional clutch specialist to examine your car to diagnose the correct fix. As long as the clutch itself doesn't have to come out the repair should be relatively quick and cheap, and many clutch centres offer free clutch adjustments.

Clutch still has no resistance (not engaged) even after bleeding

Sounds to me that the slave cyl. is bad, they can go bad with no visable signs of leakage. If you bleed it numerious times and can't get a clutch than thats what it is. Unless you replaced the clutch and you forgot to remove the packing blocks in pressure plate, but not all clutch kits come with them, but there are some that do. Seeings you did not mention clutch replacement, i'am assuming you did not.

I have a Hyundai excel 97, 5 speed manual, the thrush bearing sleeve is gone, can this just be replaced or do I have to get whole new gear box ? Is there any other model of hyundai gear box that I can use...

Should be able to replace the thrust, or clutch release, or throw-out bearing assy only, (all names i've heard it called over the years )but take a good look at clutch assy, just in case it's time & you want to save yourself R&R transmission twice in a short time.
