Transmission jerks I have a 2003 chrysler town and country limited edition, and i've had it know for 3 months now, and i've noticed that my transmission jerks really bad going into 2nd gear, all of the other gears change really smoothly, but its just second gear. It mainly does it when i drive off slow, and it jerks really bad when i make a right or left turn at a slow speed, and i dont know what it could be. First, i thought its a sign that my transmission is about to give out, but it only has 95,286 miles on it, Second, i thought it was the shift solenoid, then i thought the timing was off in the transmissions computer that makes it switch to the next gear to early, but im not for sure, but if anybody has solution to fix this problem, i would really appreciate having it. Thanx, Kenneth

I too have a 2003 t&c..it does the same thing. It did it when I got it two years ago with 74000 miles on it. It now has 125000 and still does the jerking into second gear...It hasn't gotten any worse...should I be concerned, or just continue to put up with it..It's my first t&c to own..it has the 3.8 engine, and I couldn't ask for a better vehicle. I worried about this problem for awhile, but when it didn't get worse I relaxed..Anxious to know if it is something to be concerned about

I have the same problem. I have 1999 chrysler t&c van and the transmission jerks when it shifts after slowing down and then speed up. It has been doing this a long while it has 124000 miles on it. Does anyone know what causes this and how to fix it. I'm worried it may get worse.

One possibility is that the speed sensor is going out. When that happens the computer gets bad information and thus makes bad decisions. When the car goes into 2nd all of the solenoids are actually off. That is so if there is some kind of problem the transmission gets no power, then it still has P, R, N, 2nd. It would be kind of weird, maybe, to see only the 1-2 shift being affected but I can't really think of anything else that could cause that kind of problem.

2003 chrysler town and country limited 3.8litre where is the transmis 2003 Chrysler Town and Country limited recalls 2003 Chrysler Town and Country limited 3.8litre code p1776 how can I fix

It is not a do it yourself fix.

This is an automatic transmission issue which may involve replacing the valve body and solenoid pack and affects transmissions fitted to various Chrylser models. It could also be a symptom of more serious transmission problems and requires proper investigation and diagnosis.

On some models there was a Technical Service Bulletin issued to dealers on this problem .

2001 chrysler town country limited. Check engine light is on with a code P740. transmission shifts very well .What is up with this code and what needs to be replaced? also the ac is cold on the passenger...

P0740 Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Malfunction, it could be a sensor starting to go bad, have the code cleared and see if it happens again, have you ever had your transmission fluid replaced, (do not have it flushed) might want to do that as a Preventive Maintenance item.

A/C problem could be the A/C controls on the dash are not working properly, the doors inside the dash are not closing completely, letting warm blended air in on the driver's side.

2006 Chrysler T&C transmission leak

a bolt most likely vibrated loose and is letting transmission fluid leak out. try finding it and tighten it back up. or your dipstick housing is loose and the pressure is allowing fluid to leak out.
