Question about 1996 Dodge Ram

1 Answer

I dont know why the radio wont work on a 1996 Dodge ram 1500

I checked the fuses and they are fine. I checked the grounds that i can see and they seem to be ok. The radio sometimes comes on at random but a bump will turn it back off. No clock on either.

Try an alternate ground. If not there is most likely a loose connection inside the radio itself.

does the fuse keep blowing ?? it is also on the same line as the cigarette lighter if the fuse is blowing check that there is nothing stuck in the lighter socket that is shorting it out. Could also be a bad ground wire not makeinig contact.

This is likely a short in the power distribution block located on your stearing column. There was a recall for this problem. Contact the dealer for information.
