I have a 2006 volkswagon jetta tdi, manual that I recently purchased used. It did not come with a car manual. There is a light on the dashboard that has an exclamation point inside what looks like parenthases connected by a wavy line..it is to the left of the cruise control indicator. Please advise.

That may the the light for the ESP control, hit the esp button on your dash board next to the 4-way button on your dash and it should turn off

I have the same car and I am not in front of it but I will look to be sure however I think by your description that you have described the parking brake lamp. if thats not it respond back and I will have more info later this evening.

I have a 2006 volkswagon jetta 1.9L TDI. It has a code comeing up that is a p2112. I have taken the throttle actuator apart and cleaned it and it didn't help so I purchased a new one and installed it...
Looking up that code by number lists it as this P2112 DODGE Throttle Actuator Ctrl Mod Processor,, I know on some VW's the coding is different,, so I'll try and see if that code is the same for your car

2006 volkswagon jetta brake problem
A SIX INCH C-CLAMP, PURCHASED AT THE AUTO PARTS STORE, IS NEEDED TO PUSH THE PISTON INTO THE CALIPER AS LONG AS IT IS THE FRONT BRAKES THAT YOU ARE WORKING ON. IF YOU ARE REFERRING TO THE REAR BRAKES, THEN THE PISTON MUST BE TURNED COUNTERCLOCKWISE(TO THE LEFT). HOPE THIS HELPS. PLEASE KEEP ME POSTED. THANKS FOR USING FIX-YA. GOOD LUCK

[yes ]is the simple answer, a turbo starved of engine oil pressure even for a short period of time can blow the turbo; fit a new or a good second hand turbo.[hint]when testing a second turbo put your finger inside the turbo and spin it .a good turbo should spin quite easly for 3/4seconds with no noise.hope this helped you.adrian
