The cd player in my 2000 mystique is not working

It was working fine since I bought the car. Today, I ejected the CD to change it and it won't let me put in a new one. It's like it will not accept anymore CD's. Any suggestions? Other than buying a new player.

Won't read any DVD's

Have you tried using a CD player cleaner in the unit? Try a "wet" system. One that uses a cd with tiny brushes on it that you pour a little (included) cleaner on it and run it in the player as if it were any other cd. They have worked miracles for me in the past. Also, although I'm not sure about Kenwoods, I have had a number of aftermarket head units and they have all had. "Reset" button on them. I usually find them on the front located behind the faceplate. Simply remove cd's, press and hold button (with ballpoint pen) for 10- 20 seconds. This will require you to reset time, memory etc... Good luck!

Toyota Avalon 2000 xls cd player does not work

If you are using "home-made" or "burnt" CDs, this can happen. Sometimes, you can remove the radio from the dash, and unplug it. That may reset the CD player, and the discs will eject.
It works for me about 85% of the time. Hope this helps.

CD Player for 1998 Mercury Mystique

I just bought the same car recently and my son installed a cd/satellite/radio player into it with no problems. A high-end one that he took out of one of his cars. He's an audio freak that works in a high-performance car accessory shop. The only thing extra he had to install was some kind of wiring adapter to mate it with the existing factory radio harness. It only cost a few bucks. I think about $15.00. And there was no worries about wattage or anything else. Been using the player for about six-weeks now with no problems. If you remind me, I'll ask him about that wiring adapter....
