1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee running very loud

My 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee is running very loud. It sounds like an exhaust problem but I just replaced the entire exhaust last year. Could carbon build-up contribute to it running loud? It is really bad when you first start it and quiets down after it warms up. But when I accelerate it becomes loud again. Please let me know.

Yes it is a 4.0L engine, V6. It runs louder when its cold and quiets down some when it warms up. The noise is coming from under the vehicle.

The 4.0l are prone for the exhaust manifold cracking at the collector. if this is the case you can have it rewelded but the crack will just appear on another place. replacement is the best solution

I would assume that there is something wrong with your exhaust again. Most likely its the exhuast donut gaskit that goes to the cat converter.
