Question about 2008 Ford F 250 Super Duty 4WD

To reset the oil light follow these steps:
1. Insert the key and turn it to ON position
2. Press select and reset button until you get the message that hold reset to get to the setup menu
3. Then, get to the hold life percentage menu
4. Now, hold the button again, and the percentage will reach a 100%
5. Turn off the car, and then crank up the engine, the oil light should turn off.

to reset the oil monitoring system to 100% , press SET control to access the system check functions , press and release the SET control to display OIL CHNG XXX% HOLD SET NEW , press and hold the SET control for 2 seconds to display OIL CHANGE SET TO 100% , oil life is now reset . thank you !

If you have the optional message center it is on page 144 of your owners manual.
Press and release the SETUP
control to display “OIL LIFE =
XXX% then HOLD RESET = NEW”.
If you have the standard message center this begins on page 126 of your owners manual.

There is a sensor for both of them. I am not quite sure if they are related, on the same fuse. You can check the fuse box and see though. Sometimes the sending unit will get stuck or become defective and it will keep the light on, even if it is reset. They might be on the same circuit but I am not 100% sure. But, as far as the oil light, for it to go off, you will have to check it out. It is either loose, stuck, or bad.

The HPOP (high pressure oil pump) is right under the filter housing. There are 2 lines that distribute the oil to the cylinder heads. The o-rings on those fittings go out. Kit is available from Ford or International. You will need a special wrench to get to the fittings though.
