Northstar V8 Engine 32 Valve New Transmission Oil Change New Battery Good Alternator Good Starter Replaced Fuel Pump Fuse Added Fuel Cleaner I just bought this car a few days ago in an "Take It As Is" Lot. No Telling How Long It's Been Sitting. Basically When I Turn It On... It Clicks Once. Nothing Happens. I cant even press on the gas to give it an extra boost. All the lights are on though. If I finally get it going... it will drive for a while and randomly go out. but all the lights are still on. Some mechanics think its the fuel filter. Some think its an ignition problem. Some think its an electrical problem between the starter & the alternator. Also, Very light white steam sometimes comes from the top of the engine. My coolant temperature guage fluctuates between 216 - 230 around the time it shuts off. Any solutions?

Have you unhooked the battery since you put the freon in? If not, do it.

Does the engine crank over with the starter, and did the vehicle not start after changing the fuel filter?
