Have you tried moving the lever in the opposite direction? Some cars have the lever set so when someone is coming towards you with their high beams you can tap the lever in the direction you are moving it to flash the oncoming car to lower their high beams and the opposite direction puts them on high until you turn them off. Just a thought.

SOURCE: DRL and High Beam do not work right on Honda Accord EX 1998

Some time back I found some data on a similar website suggesting that the Day Light Running circuit board, just under the steering column, developed cracks in some of the soldered joints. Your high beams should also be affected with loss of day light running lights.
Resoldering repaired the continuity of the circuits. Ours is now working quite reliably. Some of the defective areas developed slight brownish discoloration, that's how I was told to recognise the areas to be resoldered. Hope this will help you solve your problem.

High beam won't stay on unless I hold the lever

No year, make, model listed, but most newer cars have the feature where pulling the lever only flashes the lights momentarily. To select the high beams, you need to push the lever and it will stay down.

Headlights wont turn

sounds like the headlight switch is defective and needs replacing, but you need to check to make sure the rod that the switch pushes against if make the full travel and not short as this will not allow the switch to change from low beam to high beam.if the rod is travelling the full length then the switch is no good.you should also hear a click when moving the arm to go from low to high if not then the switch is bad.by holding the lever at a certain position to get the high beams to work this also indicates a switch problem.

I can't get my brights to stay on without having to hold them on . What might be the issue

I find that to energise the high beam momentarily (to warn oncoming motorists) I pull back on the switch lever but to change to full beam on I push down on the lever until it clicks as the low /high beam is the back and forward motion of the light switch

Is Blue Lite For High Beam Supposed T oStay on when clicked?

To clarify, when you pull the turn signal lever towards you, the high beam lights will come on only as long as you hold the lever up. This is the flash to pass feature.
To switch the headlights from low beam to high beam, you push down on the lever towards the dash. Then the high beam lights and the blue indicator light should stay on.

High beam does not stay on

On my Toyota Highlander, if it's in the AUTOMATIC mode, the high beams only stay on while the arm is held up.

If I put the light switch in the ON position it works correctly when I press down on the lighting arm. Hope this helps ya.

I have 2006 grand prix and the bright lights wont come on. I move the blinker lever forward and the low beams stay on but i get the blue bright light on the dash, checked fuses all seem to be okay

do you hear the click of the dimmer switch when you move the lever if you do then the steel rod that goes from the lever to the switch itself is working and the switch is moving from the low beam to high beam circuit.if the blue dash indicator is on them power is coming out of the switch to the dash to operate the light.its possible that the dimmer switch may need to be adjusted a little if you don`t hear the click but moves enough to put the dash light on but not enough to turn the high beams on,that is possibly why the low lights stay on.or you have a bad dimmer switch itself
