Cylinder #1 misfire on a Ford Taurus SHO

I have a 1997 Ford taurus sho and cylinder #1 has a misfire I swaped the ignition coil from cylinder #2 to #1 and the cylinder on #1 still is the one misfiring so the problem is not in the coil. The Question I have is what would the problem be considering I Put lucus Injector cleaner and dry gas to unclogg any clogged injectors and cylinder #1 still misfires what would be the problem?

Did you check the condition of the spark plug? If the plug is good do a compression check; a very low reading could indicate a sticking intake valve (sticking open). The easyest and cheapest way to fix a sticking valve is to introduce 1/2 can of Sea Foam into the air intake manafold; just follow the instructions on the can except you will use 1/2 can instead of 1/3 can. That Yamaha motor from what I have found collects tons of gunk on the valve stems. Good luck.

My 1997 Ford Taurus sho catalytic converter glows red and gets hot enough to catch on fire. Help please.

Take it to a shop immediately. A cat CAN catch on fire and burn your car to the ground. Tow if shop is far away. It's breaking down and capturing all of the heat from the motor. It's probably already failed I'm sure so will need replaced.

I may not have the answer but I had a similar problem with my 97 taurus, for me the problem was the Oxygen sensors they needed to be replaced. If you havent done that maybe try it or ask a mechanic if that might be the problem

injector, plug, wire, coil, vacuum leak. Isolate 1 by 1 by moving them around to other cylinders to see if the problem moves with it.

97 ford taurus: Cylinder 2 misfire

Assuming the plugs and wires have been changed. I would look at the bottom of the coil pack. They tend to crack and short out.

Or if it's got coil packs they will also crack and short out.
