89 bronco II with a 2.9 L i can hear the pump run then stop it starts then dies if i spray starting fluid in the throttle body it will stay running as soon as i stop spraying it dies
If the fuel pump cutoff was tripped it would not start at all, I know this for sure, I am a Ford dealer tech and I specialize in no starts and check eng lights. If the ignition switch is bad the 2 halves of the switch will be starting to come apart, it is very common, u should be able to either see it or feel it with your hand.
I would say try the fuel pump relay it is located in the fuse box under the hood.hope this could help.

check the fuel pump relay, if it is ok replace the ignition switch at the bottom of the steering column.
runs when starter fluid is sprayed into the throttle body, changed fuel pump and still no start
